Jun 28, 2011 8:19 PM in response to Sliffby The Viper,I have the iPod Classic 80gig. How do you put it in disk mode? I've had no luck whatsoever for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I'm starting to think Apple reall doesn't care or nobody has brought it to their attention.

Jun 29, 2011 3:09 PM in response to The Viperby WesleyOlins,I know this may not be the ideal solution for everyone but I ran upon this while I was trying to troubleshoot the same issue.
I was given an iPod from a friend and it would load the iPod for a second then iTunes would freeze.
In Windows - open "My Computer" and right click on your iPod, then click Format.
Make sure you don't change the Format option as this may mess up your iPod. Ensure "Quick Format" is selected.
Once the format is complete iTunes will recognize your iPod and say it needs to be restored. Once your iPod has been restored iTunes will not freeze and you will be able to sync your iPod.
Be careful when you Format your iPod because you will loose ALL data. For me, that didn't matter, everything I needed was in my iTunes.
Hope this helps someone.

Jul 3, 2011 11:09 AM in response to Risen Soldierby M0terb0nd,SOLUTION:
Delete your Ipod in the Itunes options screen, and delete the history, it works for me now

Jul 4, 2011 9:57 PM in response to M0terb0ndby Fret0426,Another solution worked for me... Hard reset your ipod touch by holding down the power and menu buttons until the ipod shuts off. Plug into your computer while power is still off and wait for your computer to turn on the ipod... after that the problem was fixed. Took a few minutes to power back up but worked perfectly.

Jul 7, 2011 6:01 PM in response to gothminionby Nappyboyradio,Thank you so much gothminion this thing has really been a pain all day.
I found that, like gothminion, going to iTunes and clicking Edit>Preferences>Devices and checking off "Prevent iPhones, iPods and iPads from syncing automatically"
I strongly recommend you try this if you are like me and all the other ones didn't work.
