Q: Apple Hardware Test 2.0.2 for PowerMac MDD 1.25 Single.

Hello people,

No amount of searching has helped me to locate the individual disc image that shipped with this model of Mac that I want to test.

It's the last 1.25 single processor MDD released in 2003. I'm not sure, but I think the part number is:

OS X 10.2.7, Hardware Test 2.0.2, part#691-4567-A

Is there just one version of AHT 2.0.2 or model specific versions as well?

Cheers, R.

G4 1.42DP MDD, 2GB, 120GB, x800XT, 10.5.8 Server, Mac OS X (10.5.8), 5500 Director (250), 6100 (66), G3 Minitower 233 + Desktop (233), B&W G3 (350). LC, LCII

Hi guys I think I have solved my problem with my PowerBook g4 12" al 867 MHz 128 mb ram upgraded to 640 mb and all software updates. I did a keyboard test today as I believe I am having keyboard issues. I took out the original keyboard and tried my iBook g3 keyboard and figured out that I had to plug it in upside down. I started having trouble with this keyboard on my now half working iBook g3. Tried this keyboard and all the keys work but the eject key without messing with the keyboard settings in system prefs. I still am having the strange issue with the computer beeping like I am holding down a key. The machine acts like I am holding down the down arrow key and when I open up a folder or Internet it automatically scrolls down to the bottom and the track pad tracks weird. I then decided to unplug the keyboard with it on as it is password only to log on and it works just fine. My question is does this mean my keyboards are messed up or is it the keyboard port or hardware also will aht 2.0.2 tell me if my keyboards are messed up. I hope I can get a copy of aht 2.0.2.

    Thanx Lee

This link has downloadable versions of the Apple Hardware Test http://www.info.apple.com/support/aht.html which you can burn to a CD. The version for G4 MDD is 1.2.6 which is better than nothing. There is no download of version 2.0.2

Hi Wayne, I'm not certain there was an AHT way back then, ifthere was I think it would hve to be earlier than 1.2.6 for sure, possibly an old version of TechTool had a lite version, maybe v 2.5.5?

Yeah, the single page of AHT dowloads didn't have a second page or links to other pages. So I figured it was a non starter question, and as I'm to cheap to give away money I don't have, I'll stick with repete or multiple runs of Applejack for cures on this machine. Maybe someone else may chime in with something. ....  but, Thanks for the reply BDaqua, we're watch the system work, ...... wayne146 ......

Hi Japamac! I'm having some strange video problems with a 15" PowerBook G4 1.25 Ghz. Can you help me locate the AHT (I think v2.0.2 or 2.0.4)? <Edited by Host>

I'm also on the lookout for this disk. I'm having a heck of a time getting my SP 2003 MDD to boot properly in OS 9, and I only have AHT 1.2.6.

    Hi Mark,

If anybody could, they couldn't because your eMail is only showing to you & Apple.

    Hi BDAqua,

Thanks for the reply. That's funny that you say no one could see my email. I saw that reply to other posts and explicitly changed my setting to "registered users" presuming that whoever replied would have logged in and thus seen my email address. Maybe a situation of the cart before the horse?

In any event, I have now changed the preference to "everyone" in hopes of an expedited response.

    Have a great day.

    Regards,

    Mark Harrison
