    Hi all,

I tried everything I found on this page, I read elsewhere that reinstalling iTunes might work...

But I'm still getting the same errors every time I open Xcode :/

Do you have any other idea?

I join the error message :

Xcode encountered an internal logic error. Choose "Continue" to continue running Xcode in an inconsistent state.  Choose "Crash" to halt Xcode and file a bug with Crash Reporter. Choosing "Crash" will result in the loss of all unsaved data.

Sorry to ask something obvious, but have you cleared out all the previous XCode data before installing 4? Most of the previous problems came from carry-overs from previous XCode installations.

I typed the following commands in the terminal as Andreas suggested :

    sudo tmutil disablelocal

    sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all

    sudo /Developer-3.2.2/Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all

    sudo tmutil enablelocal

Then I deleted the folders "Developer" and "Developer-3.2.2".

Is there something else to delete?

    I'll give it another try.

    Thanks for your help!

EDIT : actually, the second comman didn't work as I don't have a developer-3.2.2 file.

Were you reinstalling XCode 4 before you ran it? It might be worth trying something like CleanApp to make sure everything is gone before reinstalling.

    Any other idea?

I'm afraid I don't have specific ideas about the situation, the way I go about it, I would try these things:

    1. Restart machine

    2. Create a new/fresh user and try to start XCode from that new user account.

    3. If (2) worked, delete XCode prefs/caches from your current user (something CleanApp might be able to do this).

    4. ???

    5. Reinstall machine

I think I'll have to go with the last option

    Thanks anyway!

Hi, I had the same problem, after install of Xcode 4, kept crashing with error messages quoted by others ("internal error").

I trashed the old Developer directory and re-installed and all is now OK.

Mine crashed at startup without opening a project.

    ASSERTION FAILURE in /SourceCache/IDEInterfaceBuilder/IDEInterfaceBuilder-1617/Framework/Utilities/I BFoundationAdditions.m:303

    Deleting ~/Library/Cache/com.apple.dt.Xcode fixed it.

    Cheers, Axello :-)

Tried your option before any of the others and it seems to have worked.

I got the error after compiling an edited source file.
