Q: eMac (PPC) with 10.4 and a Ricoh aficio C5000 printer

I am having problems with an eMac (PPC) with 10.4 and a Ricoh aficio C5000 printer connected to the network, does anyone have a solution? I can connect it the mac but it doesn't  print exactly what I want.

1 page of what I want to print = ~24 what is actually printed

It doesn't work the connection through the appletalk protocol so I used the TCP/IP protocol.

eBook (PPC), Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Did you download current drivers from the Ricoh site or are you using the ones that were bundled with OSX? If the latter they are out of date because Tiger was three OS iterations ago. Get the latest driver from Ricoh, but be certain they support 10.4. Some companies are dropping 10.4 support, or offer through their archived drivers section.

I will try it again but, if I remeber properly, I will have some trouble.  It will ask to connect the printer through the appletalk protocol, where the actual is in a TCP/IP protocol. If you know a way to get around problem it will be of a great help.

    Many thanks

Appletalk can only use one port at a time, check System Preferences>Network & see which Interface has it enabled.

Here in 10.4.11 it's enabled for Airport...

Problem found, the module Postscript did not come with the printer as standard. So I could set everything up, as I did, but with that module missing the printer could not procesed what was coming from this little apple computer. This was in a little city hall down to france and they dropped the idea when they saw the bill for the order. 1250,00 euros
