search the forums, there are numerous threads that ask this question.  You can also compare them on Apples official website.

Air does not allow memory upgrades ... soldered to motherboard.

Pro allows memory upgrades by users.

Air has "integrated gaphics" -- part of the CPU and shares memory with the CPU.  Also the grahics chip adds heat to the CPU.

Pro also has "discrete graphics" -- graphics cards that are NOT in the CPU but are separate and have separate memory, and do not overheat the CPU.

Only on the 15" and 17" models, not the 13" models, just to clarify to the OP

macbook pro is faster, better and the only low points are screen resolution

    it's 1280*800 on pro & 1440*990 on air, weight & size

rest at all pro is ahead

The MacBook Air is a good computer on the go, with it's very thin and small prescense. The MacBook Pro is more professional with it's bigger screens and it's faster performance. If it was down to the price, the MacBook Air would work best. In no case should there be anyone forcing you to go with one of these. It's your decision.

The MacBook air is thinner lighter but does not have a lot of capabilitys as in it has less RAM and less Hard drive space. The Air does not come with a DVD drivebut if you have another computer in your home you can share it through your home network and read it on the MacBook Air.

The Pro is thicker and bigger but has WAY more capabiitys as in more RAM Hard Drice space and that DVD drive.

Because of more Ram it will be much faster than the Air and some Apps may run even better than the Air.

the macbook pro is a professional laptop that an be used to do many advanced computing tasks such as video and photo editing. You can script programs and it comes with more ram and a better processor, such as a 2.3 gigahert intel core i7 with 8 gigs of ram.

On the macbook air, one can do small tasks sush as web surfing, picture editing, and light gaming. It can come with a 1.3 gigahert processor with turbo boost instead of a 2.3 gigahert with intel turbo boost technology

I don't think so. It's crazy. My friend's macbook air opens an app faster than my macbook pro does. Insane. It's also heavy and thick. I don't see any benefit.

This is strictly because the Air is using an SSD where as the MacBook Pro is using a regular HDD with spinning platters that isn't going to be as fast.  Once the program is loaded though, the Pro will be able to do things a lot faster then the Air.  Try rendering photos side by side and see what you get for a difference...But that isn't to trash the Air, they are still great computers.
