Nov 27, 2011 12:02 PM in response to Rod410by Craig Vinson,That works for music that didn't have artwork before match. All of my music had (and has) artwork before match ran (and still has it). It's just not showing up on my devices that had music on them pre-match

Nov 27, 2011 12:22 PM in response to Rod410by Craig Vinson,Sorry it doesn't work. That method only works for albums missing artwork to begin with.

Dec 2, 2011 7:15 AM in response to Craig Vinsonby Reido1131,Try turning off iTunes match on the device that is not displaying artwork, then turn it back on.
That fixed it for me on multiple desktop versions of iTunes.
Hope this helps?

Dec 2, 2011 12:44 PM in response to Craig Vinsonby gobigdave,It sure looks like Match always wants to go to the cloud to get the cover art, even if the song is downloaded. What I find on my iPhone 4 is:
1. Play a song
2. See the grey "no cover art" pic
3. Hit the back arrow
4. Wait a sec
5. Hit Now playing
6. See cover art now
The strange part is that sometimes when I come back to the song where cover art finally did display, I still have to go through the process again, and I can see the network spinning as I assume the music app is off looking for the cover art again.
Apple, I embedded my cover art in all my files. Please use that.

Dec 4, 2011 6:00 AM in response to gobigdaveby Craig Vinson,Yup same thing happens here. It comes and goes. And sometimes never even shows up to begin with.
Is anyone listening Apple?

Dec 7, 2011 6:33 AM in response to Craig Vinsonby Cunn,The lack of artwork is definitely an issue. I'm sure Apple was aware of this before releasing iTunes Match and are still well aware of the problem. It would have been nice to have a warning before adding all of my music to the iCloud. For those of us that have large music libraries that we work hard to maintain this is really frustrating.
I hate to say it but I wouldnt be surprised if it takes Apple years to resolve this.

Dec 7, 2011 11:02 AM in response to Rod410by Craig Vinson,No it doesn't not for this problem. This only works IF iTunes Match artwork worked the first time to begun with. For those of us who have had problems from the beginning (like this post) that doesn't help

Dec 9, 2011 8:05 AM in response to Craig Vinsonby bradS,I had a similar problem ever since turning on iTM. I finally called Apple about it. They weren't particularly helpful on the phone, but I've had a continuing dialog via email.
Their answer was basically to make a 'change' to the artwork on your 'master' machine by exporting it, deleting the art from the files, modifying the exported art with a rescale operation, then re-add the art to the affected files. Any time you make a change to the 'master' files, do an update iTM.
Their procedure didn't work for me, but the following DID work, and it's been stable for a couple of days now:
- For each album that was not showing cover art on the 'client', I deleted the album from the 'master', choosing to ALSO delete the album from iCloud, but KEEPING the files.
- Wait for the deletion to propagate to the 'client' machine.
- ADD the deleted files back to the 'master' machine. ("Add Folder to Library...")
- Wait for the iTM process to recognize the re-added album on the 'master'.
- Wait for the iTM process to propagate to the 'client' machine.
By the end of the process, I was using the above procedure on about 120 albums at a time, which made fairly quick work of the 700 albums I needed to do.
It feels like a combination of a bug (or bugs) in iTM, plus a capacity problem.
Hope this helps!
