I thought I could just drag effects to time line and sample, but I guess it's not that logical.

Thanks

I'll just say, while loading discs last night, it didn't go totally flawless getting stuck on disk3.

Is there a process to run that will verify the software is fully 100%?

I'm running 10.6.8 on the MacBookPro.

If this is flawed, I'll have to load it on the MacPro instead. He's 10.6.8 also.

It's not clear in your post (or maybe I'm just being obtuse), but are you referring to version 7 of FCP, or are you referring to being able to see effects that have been applied to clips in track V7?

Now to figure out how to get Motion adjustments to see in real time what your doing in the other canvas screen.

    If thats an option.

Selecting video tab to see end results behind adjustment panel seems a poor way to do it after the fact.

Place the clip on the Timeline. Position the playhead over it and double click the clip to send it to the Viewer.

Open the Viewer's Motion tab and make adjustments. The clip in the Canvas/Timeline will change accordingly.

For sounds, you can view them in Soundtrack Pro... they have music, loops, sfx, etc... I believe you can also see them Garage Band...

Don't forget that you have searchable .pdf copies of the user manuals under the Help menu bar item too.

They have a wealth of useful information.
