Return them and don't buy Beats again. Beats are made by Monster who is infamous for making hugely overpriced cables. You can buy similar quality cables for 1/10th the price of a Monster cable. Yet people think this same company, who is new to the headphone market, is going to offer a great product for a great value. How the marketing blitz isn't obvious to so many is mind boggling. You see these things everywhere on tv and in magazines. They give them to celebrities and athletes to pump up their product image.
If you really care about sound quality and NOT being cool amongst your peer group then learn about headphones and get multiple recommendations here: http://audioproheadphones.blogspot.com

I actually demo'd several pairs of these Beats cans today and they all suck. I use Sennheiser HD 280s at home for recording and listening to music. They are a real respected company and you are not paying for the marketing or because its cool because Dr. Dre says so. Those Beats headphones are cheaply made too. How long will that plastic really last? Return them and get a real pair for half the price. There's tons of good stuff for $100-150.
Monster cables are only worth buying for analog applications like plugging my ESP guitar into my Mesa Boogie half stack. I use a $60 Monster Rock cable and it really makes a difference in sound quality. They also have a no questions asked lifetime warranty. I can walk in any Guitar Center and swap it for a new one if it breaks. The HDMI cables on the other hand are the biggest waste of money.
