Q: G5 Requires restarts?

G5 2 Gigs of Ram

Sys 10.5

After running for six or eight minutes a transparent screen descends and says the computer needs to be restarted. Any ideas what the problems are and what the solution is?

I have run the hardware test with the disk that came with the machine in 2005. It didn't show anything or ask for any responses.

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.5)

Get Temperature Monitor to see if it's heat related...

If you have any temps in the 70°C/160°F range, that's likely it.

Hello
on September 20, 2016, I have the same problem, after I restart my old Mac G5 after a long period of shutdown (few months). Therefore I never had some start problems with this machine.
