Not sure if the following will work with your camera, but it would be an example on how it would be done.

Note: I am assuming that your wireless camera is accessible via a web browser on the local network.

  1. Start the AirPort Utility > Select the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn).
  2. Select Manual Setup.
  3. Verify that Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address is selected on the Internet > Internet Connection tab.
  4. Select Advanced, and then, select the Port Mapping tab.
  5. Click the plus sign to add a new port mapping.
  6. For Service, leave the default; this will change to "Custom" once you start entering port values.
  7. In the Public UDP Port(s) and Public TCP Port(s) boxes, type in a 4-digit port number (e.g., 8888) that you choose. In the Private IP Address box, type the internal IP address of your camera. In the Private UDP Port(s) and Private TCP Port(s) boxes, enter the appropriate port values that should have been provided to you by the camera manufacturer. Click Continue.
  8. In the Description box, type a descriptive name like "Internet Camera Access," and then, click Done.
  9. Click on Update.

To connect to the shared Camera from a remote location using a Mac or PC:

  1. Start your favorite web browser.
  2. Enter the dtdns.com-provided Domain Name, followed by a colon and the Public port number that you choose in step 7 of the previous procedure. For example: http://www.mydtdnsdomainname.com:8888

I'm trying to setup a NVR for remote access and forward ports 80 and 8000. I've done exactly what is stated above including reserving the DHCP and it still does not work. When I test the port to see if it is open it says port 80 or 8000 is closed.

I've tried resetting the airport and it still doesn't work. Is there anything else I can do to get this to work?

I Have Q-See 3016. my only router is AirPort Extreme. I do not have a Mac computer. I only use an ipad (or iPhone) with the airport utility app. I do have a PC if it is needed if I remember how to turn it on. After Q-See support telling me to forward ports 85, 37777, and 554, I am stuck. I've read dozens of these forums trying to figure this out but to no avail. I cannot get a site that shows that it can see my ports open. I'm sure I'll be stuck for days longer after I figure that part out, but right now, I can go no further. Support told me to uncheck the "DHCP" box, but I am unsure when forwarding ports if I am using IPv4 or IPv6? Why do they make it so difficult to view cameras on your phone? Ugh, can you help? Very much appreciated. Thank you.
