I agree, I tried to import the .m4v file into iTunes, no luck. I tried the same thing with my new copy of The Hangover Part II and to my disappointment it's not working. I like the old Digital Copy days when there was an additional CD or DVD.

Thanks for all the reponses above, I'll try a different route.

Email ultra violet and register a complaint. Ale sure you include the original code.  They will either send you a code or mail you the disk that will allow you to download into iTunes.  We need to keep the pressure on this company to get with the program and support iTunes.  Ultra violet is not a true digital copy, it is the "right" to stream, which does none of us any good unless we are connected to the web.  And with cell phone companies starting to charge more for data we are getting screwed.  We should not have to pay twice to match a movie we already own.

I've emailed them about this but still haven't heard back. Hopefully they will have a response this afternoon when I wake up. Thanks for the advice.

I submitted my request for an iTunes codes yesterday, but unfortunately haven't heard back.  I must admit that I am a little discouraged by all of this. I basically had completed my whole HP collection, and this was the last digital copy I needed to download into iTunes.  I assumed ultraviolet would act similar to my other digital copies. Oh well, hope they get back to me soon.

    Good luck, everyone!

Quick update...about 45 minutes after I posted this, I received a iTunes redemption code. Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

Yep. You can absolutely watch the flixster ultraviolet movie on your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. I went to the Flixster Collection troubleshooting area and found this that I copied straight from their website. Hope it helps everyone out. I followed these directions and had no problems watching Dolphin Tale on my iPhone.

How do I download my UltraViolet movie or TV show to my iOS mobile device?

To download your UltraVioletTM movies and TV shows to your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, make sure you are using the Flixster mobile app, version 5.0 or above.
    • Sign in to the Flixster or Facebook account linked to UltraViolet.
    • Go to the Home tab (iPhone/iPod Touch) or My Movies tab (iPad).
    • Tap the movie you want to download.
    • Then, tap the purple Download button on the next page.
    • Tap on Watch Now to watch your movie offline.

Once the download is complete, you'll watch it from the Flixster mobile app. Tap Watch Now, and the app will default to offline viewing.

Yeah but if we don't want to use flixter we are screwed!  Flixter *****, ultravoilet *****.  I want to mange all of my media using one app, iTunes, and we should be allowed to use anything we want to managed our stuff.  There is a perfectly good app for media with an iPhone it is called iTunes and that is what I want to use.  Ultraviolet does me no good with apple tv or with other home streaming devices.  Unless it works with iTunes I won't be buying any Blu-Rays that come with a digital copies.  I will buy the dvds and rip them using the software that I have.

Jerm99, please...I'd rather you didn't mention that here since that is illegal.

Unfortunatly I think you're missing the point,

why should we have to go through the hassel to use a extra apps, orextea services when most of us already manage our media in a spacific place. I don't want to watch HP7.1 in iTunes then have to switch over to some other program to watch HP7.2.  That's just dumb. Like it or not, the studios need to realize that most of us manage our media in iTunes (or in Windows, maybe in Windows Media Player) and should offer digital copies that can play in those programs. anything else is an unneseccary hassel and waist of resourses for users. We paid for the movies we dang well ought to be able to watch them and store them in our preferred media manager.

Also, Slcape2001, I'm not trying to accuse you of anything. but it looks like you just joined the forums today, and this is your only post. I've been seeing the same thing happen on other forums about the same topic, so I don't think it would be far fetched to suggest that perhaps some of these posts are by employees of the movie Studios, UltraViolet, Flixster or another interested party. I hope that's not the case for you, if it is then I appologize for the accusatiuon but it is interesting that all the posts I've seen have been over the past few days and all from newly created acccounts on the various forums I've seen, so the similarity is certaily there regardless if it's a coincidence in your case or not.

Illegal by the DMCA, legal by the Fair Use Act.  so as far as I undertand as long as they are only using it for their personal, nd not sharing it then the issue is still a legal grey area as far as the courts are concerned.  Much like someone copying their old record collection to CD's I suppose.

I personally won't rip them, as it may be illegal, but Jerm99's response is a fair one that reflects more on the studios than it does on Jerm99 or people who share their view.   When the studios offer the media the way users want to use it then responses like that will stop. As long as the studios stay blind then people will (justifiably) respond in kind.

kind of like prohibition, people will get what they want, and how they want it. Allow for reasonable avenues to have the media how people want and the "law breaking" will naturally stop.  I don't think Jerm99 or anyone else has said they want the DRM stripped, or other protective measures removed, they just want to be able to use the media they bought (Digital Copy) in the program that they use for digital movie watching.

BTW nxdat1981, I appologize if I seem I'm ranting on you... my response isn't intended to be at/to you directly but rather a commentary on the situation in general, I do agree we should try to avoid illegla behavior, I was just tryinfg to comment on why some people feel they need to go to that extreme.

Absolutly protect what is yours.  I have no problem with copyrighting and paying for it.  What I have is legal, I don't share anything.  We should have the choice as to how we manage our media it doesn't matter if you are an Android user, Apple user, PC user, or Linux user.  We paid for a digital copy just like we did the dvd or blu-ray and should be able to play it on any device and manage it as we see fit.  I did not purchase the 'right to stream' as the studios want is to do.  I should not only have to pay for the right to stream and the data plan and increased charges that the cell companies will levy.  Cell companies are going to do just what the cable companies are doing and jack up the rates because their network is flooded or worse limit the speed of your connection based on the amount of data you consume.

Well, I sent them an e-mail as well, but no code

This is what I got back

    Hello,

We apologize for any technical issues you are experiencing.

You can download your UltraViolet Digital Copy to a supported iOS device. Please follow these steps:

Make sure you are using Flixster app version 5.0 or above.

    • Sign into the Flixster or Facebook account linked to UltraViolet
    • Go to the Home tab (iPhone/iPod Touch) or My Movies tab (iPad)
    • Tap on the movie you want to download
    • Then tap on the purple Download button on the next page.

    Please note the following:

    1. Movies take up a lot of room on your device, probably a minimum of 500MB. Keep this in mind before downloading.
    2. It will take awhile to download the entire movie (an average of 30 minutes to one hour), especially if you are using 3G or a weak wifi connection. Plan accordingly!
    3. If you close the app for more than ten minutes, the download will pause.

You can also download your UltraViolet digital copy using Flixster Collections and watch it at any time from your computer (PC and Mac).

    Hi pka4916,

It seems tat now they are trying to resist... I'd say to keep complaining, and tell them that you specifically want to be able to handle your movies in iTunes with all of your other movies or you want them to refund the cost of your purchase. in short, be the squeeky wheel my friend... I have a feeling that we all need to be reletless in this or the studios will keep trying to force this kind of crappy service on us. those of us buying the multipacks with digital copies are paying a premium, so I'd say we should expect nothing less than premium service.

Well, I complained again, and got this message back..

    Dear valued customer,

To resolve your UltravioletTM Digital Copy request, we will mail you a Digital Copy disc that includes an iTunes compatible file for PCs and Macs as well as a Windows Media@ file for Windows-based PCs. Please respond to this email with your name and physical mailing address. The expected delivery time frame is 2-3 weeks from the time we receive your mailing address.

Thank you for contacting UltraViolet Digital Copy Customer Support.

So, I gave them my address, and mention why not just sending me the Itunes code, instead of waisting a DVD and shipping...

Now  I have to wait another 2-3 weeks..

I'm sorry you'll have to wait that does seem like a waist both of resources and time. but I'm glad to hear there was some kind of good from it (if nothing else, they learned that another person is not satisfied with their offerings) part of what seems crazy to me is that they will still have to give you a redemption code anyways.
