Q: AirPrint HP Photosmart 6510
Okay, I know many people here have posted questions on AirPrint here countless times and I have been running around trying to find my own answers, but I do not get any useful answers. I recently got a new printer for Christmas, since my old one was only able to scan recently and I wanted to be able to print from my iPad2, which has iOS 5.0.1. The printer is the HP Photosmart 6510, which Apple lists as AirPrint compatible, as do many other sources. I can print from my MacBookPro5,3 running Mac OS 10.6.8 wirelessly, no thanks to the manual. My iPad connects to the same network that my printer and laptop connect to, but my iPad cannot detect the printer. So far, my printer has been restarted multiple times, once was for a different issue, and I even temporarily disabled Bluetooth on my iPad, which did not resolve anything. My router is a Netgear WGT624v2 and IP addresses are assigned via DHCP. I have two IP addresses reserved which is for a server and my printer. Bonjour is enabled on the printer and firmware is up-to-date. I can print to the printer via ePrint, but there things that are not easy to print by sending e-mail attachments (e.g. Web pages and E-mail). Some people have said that AirPrint does not work for them in iOS 5 but does work in iOS 4, but since I do not have a working iOS 4 device, I cannot confirm this. I have considered resetting my printer back to factory default, but I'd rather not lose another E-mail address for my printer (I lost one due to removing web services, then getting it back).

Okay, thanks to Fred*M, I was able to narrow down my problem to the router. Just for anyone else out there, Netgear WGT624v2 does not support bonjour, which is necessary for Airprint. I got a new router and everything works right.
