Dec 12, 2011 8:41 AM in response to ricardofromzoetermeerby The Mac Guy 12,I have been having this problem for quite some time. It gets fustrating when I'm working, especially since I'm a graphic designer. I have attached a screen shot of what the screen looks like (It happened while I was on Facebook so I blurred out some names and pictures of people, but you get the general idea.
This seems like a software issue because if it were a hardware issue then we shouldn't be able to take a screen shot, correct?
Hopefully this will be fixed in a Lion update.

Dec 15, 2011 11:52 AM in response to The Mac Guy 12by StevenLu,Hi,
do you also have an 13" MBP from 2010? Or which model do you own?!
I can't answer your question - sorry.
Maybe 10.7.3 will fix it ;-)

Dec 27, 2011 9:15 PM in response to ricardofromzoetermeerby dsdreamer,I am having exactly this issue on a mid-2010 MBP with a Nvidia 320m GPU. Had been perfect under Snow Leopard, but glitches as pictured under Lion 10.7.2. We all hope 10.7.3 will fix it, but if it doesn't I'll be putting this machine permanently back on SL.

Jan 7, 2012 3:13 PM in response to StevenLuby dsdreamer,Steve,
Yes, still getting them. I've tried eveything I can think of including:
- Running Apple hardware tests that came on the Applications CD (no issue found)
- Running Memtest86+ (no issue found)
- PRAM reset (still glitches)
- SMC reset (still glitches)
- Reverting back to factory-installed RAM sticks (still glitches)
- Installing smcFanControl making the lowest fan speed 3000 rpm (still glitches)
- Reinstall 8GB Crucial RAM, remove smcFanControl, reset both PRAM and SMC (still glitches)
I've not found any particular pattern to it, neither a sure-fire way to reproduce it nor any way to avoid it. Every now and again, it just happens (once or twice during a full day of use).

Jan 12, 2012 10:04 PM in response to ricardofromzoetermeerby travisfrmmodesto,I wonder if Apple is even looking at the forums. I have seen at least 15 posts tonight about graphics issues with Lion, I have issues too. Apple seems to not care since 10.7.2 came out months ago.

Jan 13, 2012 7:16 AM in response to depp086by dsdreamer,If this is true, then it is likely that changes between graphics power management states are the root of the issue.
Disabling Apple Graphics Power Management completely as you have done, will probably mean that you generate more heat in the GPU and have a shorter battery life. I just hope that the extra GPU heat doesn't mean shorter hardware life as well...
Please report back if your glitches come back or if this looks to be a permananent fix.

Jan 13, 2012 7:30 AM in response to ricardofromzoetermeerby depp086,No more glitches since I "disabled" the Apple Graphics Power Management file about one week ago. I cannot recognize a shorter battery life. (just have the nvidia 320m chip version). The cpu heat is also the same like before (about 50 degrees in idle mode , means just browsing and finder work).
So Apple please fix it!!

@ dsdreamer - did you try the fix? If yes, did it solve the glitches??
@ all - let's hope it will be fixed with 10.7.3. Hopefully it will be released in the near future ..
