Up until I upgraded to Lion OS 10.7.2, I was able to use my 100 Zip Drive.
But what were you running before you upgraded? I'd say your problem is that you don't have any Zip Drivers that are compatible with Mac OS X 10.7. If they even exist, you'd find them on the Iomega site. But the last ones they have are for 10.3 and 10.4, so that doesn't bode well for any support.
If I were you, I'd post a question in the Iomega Support forums about this problem and whether or not (and how) you can get your Zip drive to work on 10.7.iMac

For what it's worth, my Zip 100 (USB 1.1) mounts and reads, but won't write (that's a disc formatting issue) with 10.6.8. I didn't install any drivers: I assume it's using the equivalent of Apple's USB Mass Storage drivers from OS 9.

I want to thank all who replied. Your suggestions were great. However, I found out what my problem was. It is my stupidity!!! I had connected the scanner to the USB instead of the Zip drive. Little wonder that the Zip would not open. Sorry for putting you all through this. Thanks again

I'm using 10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro.
I have a bunch of old zips that I just want to grab the data off of (mostly .tiff and .doc files)...bought a USB 100 Zip drive and I can't get it to Mount. It shows up in the System Profiler, but I can't get it to mount. What am I doing wrong or what else do I need to do?
Thanks for the help.
