Jan 9, 2012 9:25 PM in response to Nielby Soooz.q,Thank you Niel. Do you happen to know if you make an adjustment to your Apple ID, will you be able to change your user name on support?

Jun 7, 2012 9:30 AM in response to Nielby richardfromrocky river,This does not resolve the issue, nor does it answer the question. "You can't" is unacceptable. How can I change my Apple Support Communities user name?

Jun 7, 2012 9:33 AM in response to richardfromrocky riverby nikkormac,i agree, richard; unfortunately i'll bet that Apple does not.

Jun 7, 2012 9:36 AM in response to nikkormacby richardfromrocky river,Which is rediculous, because I can't even provide feedback to them about this, because there is no such subject or department. It's not like they monitor these forums either.

Jun 7, 2012 9:44 AM in response to richardfromrocky riverby nikkormac,i suppose you could call AppleCare and voice your wish to be able to change your username here, or you could use one of the product feedback forms at apple.com/feedback and just say, "this isn't actually about the Mac Pro, but you don't provide a feedback form for Apple Support Forums, so i'm writing it here; please forward this to whomever may be able to take action on it," or words to that effect.
sometimes you have to creatively work around bureaucratically-imposed limitations.

Jun 7, 2012 9:56 AM in response to nikkormacby richardfromrocky river,I tried that, but there is literally no team or department to forward me to! Amazing. I went the feedback form route. We'll see what happens.

Jun 7, 2012 10:04 AM in response to richardfromrocky riverby nikkormac,oh yeah, i didn't figure there would be; i'd just tell the AppleCare rep what you want Apple to know and ask them to forward it to...whomever. but i've also read the reps have very limited capabilities by design, and i don't know for a fact that they'd even be able to communicate anything to Apple that way. it's a nice thought, though.
i'd like the feedback form approach to work - i think i may have used that one myself for this issue - but i wouldn't hold my breath.

Jun 7, 2012 10:23 AM in response to nikkormacby richardfromrocky river,The more people who mention it, the better. 2 people might equal 2,000 people statistically speaking: considering total population and sample size.

Jun 24, 2012 2:38 AM in response to richardfromrocky riverby miserable cow,Did you have any luck?
I'd like to do the same - would you let me know who you contacted as I'd like to follow it up as well.
I can't believe you have to lose your whole account just to make a minor change in a username.

ApplicationsHi,
Niel's answer may not be the one you want to hear or see but it does succinctly give you the answer you are looking for.
Users cannot change their own Posting name here at Apple Support Communities under the current software used to run the Boards.
In rare cases it has been know that the Hosts have intervened (this fall inside their criteria which we can only guess at, but seems to be linked to Privacy and Cyberstalking or harassment).

Jun 24, 2012 1:56 PM in response to Soooz.qby Ralph Johns (UK),Hi all,
If you have no or a low number of points picked up from Helpful/Solved answers it is proably easier to create a new Apple ID and create new Posting Name for that account.

Jun 24, 2012 8:44 PM in response to miserable cowby richardfromrocky river,No, not yet. I submitted a feedback suggestion. We'll see what happens. I encourage you to do the same. It'll take 5 minutes, and it'll help to relieve a little frustration...but only a little.
