Q: "ß" in Internet-Passwort

Hi,

wie kann ich einen "ß" in meinem Internet-Passwort eingeben? Habe schon versucht, im Word aufzuschreiben und drüber zu kopieren, klappt aber nicht... :/ Hat jdn eine Idee? War sogar schon bei Apple-Store hier, die wussten selber nicht

    I hope you can read English, because I can read German, but not write.

     

    If you have Mac OSX Lion, just hit and hold the "s" key, and ß will be a choice.  Or you can change your keyboard to German, though I'm suprised that a German MacBook Pro doesn't have one.

    jaaaa,ich bin nicht blind.. nun es kommt einfach nicht auf dem passwort... z.B. bei "straße", komme es nur "strae", als ob den "ß" nicht anerkannt wäre....

    Yes, it was obvious -- but you didn't give us any details.

     

    Limapo's problem is that he cannot input ß in his Internet password. He knows how to type it, but…

    …it's as if the character wasn't recognised. And I suspect that's exactly what happens. I expect it's not just ß, but also ä and ö that are not recognised. The reason has to be that the password must be strict ASCII only.

     

    We still don't know for what service or server you need to enter this password. But perhaps Apple KB article HT1126 (in English | auf Deutsch) will give you a clue.

    yeah, you're right... the other letters do not show up either :/.. that's the password for AirPort... thanks, i'll tke a look
