Jan 15, 2012 12:58 PM in response to jolliffe14by Caghkan,I did it and my friend said that he can see my webcam, but it has a cross on it.
I have just delete them, but after opening the iChat, they appear again and there are lots of files with the same name.
This is my screen shot that you want me to delete "com.apple.ichat.Jabber.plist and the similarly named .lockfile".

Jan 15, 2012 1:10 PM in response to Caghkanby Ralph Johns (UK),Hi,
I have seen this once before with an AIM name.
The person was getting messages that he could not Login to the AIM servers and was managing to Dismiss them and as a consquence he had loads of similarly named files in his Preferences Folder.
There should be only one.
It should get recreated as iChat starts up again.
DO this:-
Remove the Account in iChat
Quit iChat
Delete every .plist that starts com.apple.ichat.Jabber
Open iChat and recreate the account.

Jan 15, 2012 1:25 PM in response to Caghkanby Ralph Johns (UK),OK,
It sounds like you do not "Own" them.
Highlight each in turn and use the Finder's File Menu > Get Info (or the Keystrokes)
At the bottom of the Panel that appears you may be able to tell if your Own the file. (your name should appear in the List)
Use the Padlock to Unlock the settings
Use the cogwheel type icon below the list of names.
If your Account name appears Greyed Out (Highlight your name in the list first) when referring to Making you the Owner then you already are the Owner

Jan 15, 2012 1:41 PM in response to Caghkanby Ralph Johns (UK),Ok,
Lets open the Preferences Folder info panel.
Go back so you are in the Library then highlight the Preferences Folder and do a Get Info on that.
Do you Own this ?
Remember to unlock the padlock, highlight your name if it is in the list and use the Cogwheel icon to check that Making your the Owner is greyed out.
You May (Should) have an option to "Apply to Enclosed Items"
Use this.
If this account was Migrated to this computer or some of the info was migrated to this Mac User Account you may have to look and checking the Ownership of the Library itself (And it's Contents)

Jan 15, 2012 2:07 PM in response to Caghkanby Ralph Johns (UK),Hi,
That is strange that those remain files refuse to accept the changes of the contiaining folder.
IF you do a Get Info on those do you get an Option to Add yourself and then change the Owner to your self ?
