As a follow up, is there any way to make the music videos that were included on a album purchased from iTunes NOT show up in the Music app, and only in the Videos app? If you play one of them in the Music app, you get the audio only. I don't need them taking up storage space on my iPad as audio-only versions.
It also causes another big annoyance: For some reason, the music videos always seem to come up at the top of an album list on my iPad, even though their track numbers are the last ones on each album (this doesn't happen in iTunes on my Mac). Because of this, the video's artwork is what's shown as the artwork for the whole album (in Album view, at least). The videos have a miniaturized, letterbox-y artwork (like looking at a tv screen), whereas the other tracks have full-size artwork.
I've noticed this as well. The worst part is that it's content downloaded from iTunes.
It BUGS the HECK out of me, to be honest. Especially since the only music videos I have are "making of" vidocs. So, at the end of an album, it'll start playing the audio of a vidoc.
The only solutions to this that I can think of are to add the music videos to their own album ("[Album Name] Documentary", for example) or to set them to a different media type, like a TV Show, and re-sync.
I really thought that Apple was known for their anal attention to detail, but I always have to find pointless workarounds like this just to satisfy the OCD that I've developed from using Apple products.
I was looking for a solution for this same issue and I couldn't find one either so I messed around with it and found out how to get it fixed.
If you go to the "Get Info" for the music video on your iTunes Library, go to the tabs labeled "Info" and "Sorting". Under those tabs, make sure the "Album Artist" and "Album" fields are blanked out. Re-sync with your device and it should be fixed. At least it got fixed with mine. I also cleared the "Track Number" fields just in case.
I hope this works.
