At the risk of some taking it as an insult, I have to say that I am not used to how these troubleshooting threads progress for Mac products. I have never once been referred to the official manual multiple times when troubleshooting a PC, let alone have it quoted to me like scripture and my problem called insignificant by people that don't work for the company; interesting atmosphere you mac folks have here.

This particular thread is not indicative of most Mac users, or most threads at this forum. There are a very vocal few who are making this thread unbearable for the rest of us.

Seem many are forgetting Rule #1 for online forums: Don't feed the Trolls.  Trolls hate a vaccum. Give them one and they go away.

It is true. Although switched only 3 years ago, I am quite a fan of Apple products and, mainly, OS-X. But it really bothers me that some people plain and simple choose Apple side in every occasion, without a single doubt that their "Bible" is right, and it's your fault not to get it.

Looks plain stupid and very ackward.

Returning to the topic subject, my Macbook Pro Late 2010 has also shown reduced battery life under Lion, just like the ones reported here: from 7 to 3-4 hours, at most.

This is certainly not a individual case, but an awful OS defect.

PS: Before anyone attacks my english, I'd just like to say that my first language is brazilian portuguese.

Rayced, there are multiple issues. I made it clear that I can still start old programs (without GFXcardstatus) and kill battery life.

The removing of the startup programs also gave me significant improved battery life (that I used to only get for a short while after an SMC reset). And now I get permanently.

God knows what else is going on but its moving in the right direction and Apple are continuing to evolve a solution...

Ok there are multiple issues: which one is related with battery drain? I tought at this stage Apple engeeniers were able to identify this simple thing.

    I agree with you.

Too  bad the Admins or Mods wouldn't weed out the Trolls and insult slingers so we could focus on solving the technical issues before us.  (The reason we come to this forum)

Then use activity monitor to isolate high cycle useage, that way a pattern may emerge, all we have here is histrionic posts that most Lion users are suffering with this, and they clearly are not.

I take it you aren't experiencing this issue then.

    I am.

Ok, let's all agree that NO ONE KNOWS how many users are affected. Why is this so important to you?

Let's all agree never tu use the formulation "MOST USERS" so that we don't annoy Csound / Mulligans Missus.

NO ONE can be sure how many users are affected, and it's a FACT that SOME are. Is that ok with you?

I am not, none of the machines I use with Lion have any issues (for my way of working).

Perfectly, because it is an accurate assessment.

I think that this was quite clear the whole time. I wasn't the one forcing "affected users number quantization" + It's irrelevant.

What's relevant is that the number of affected users is definitely significant enough for Apple to fix the problem.

How about everyone stops  ******** about numbers, get the problem SOLVED.

Everyone just call Apple and reference this thread.

Then tell Apple instead of hanging around user forums looking for a fix if that's what you believe. I thought you got it, but you missed my a mile. Send feedback to Apple. Get that?

    Happy trails
