cannot print using Canon senses LBP 6000 and Lion

apparently no drivers for Canon LBP 6000, but the printer is only 15 months old.   Everything appears to work, data transfers, tells me it is printing the document, but it isn't!

    Looking at the Canon site/drivers, indeed LBP 6000 is missing. Nevertheless, this is not always the sign it would not work. I do not understand the second part: ‘Everything appears to work, data transfers, tells me it is printing the document, but it isn't!’. Did you set the printer? If you connect it to the mac, open system Preferences/Print and Fax, presss + button to add printer, you will see it and, probably, a pop-up window asking you to download driver. Did you pass through this stage? According to what you write, as long as you attempt to print, but nothing happens, I may infer you installed the printer. Could you be mor specific?

    I was able to find drivers for Lion here on the European site for Canon.  Are those he drivers you are using?  It appears there are specific instructions for installation and adding the printer.

    If you use an earlier version of the CAPT driver on Lion, then you will get a similar result to what you mention.

     

    So I suggest you download the CAPT v3.40 driver and run the installer. At the point where it shows Easy Install, change this drop menu to Uninstall, so that the older version of CAPT is removed. When this has completed, run the installation again, obviously selecting Easy Install this time. When it has completed, ensure you add the printer as per the instruction in the document "Registering OS X Lion.pdf" that is included with the download.
