Just Spoke to Apple
And they said take it to the seller and make Apple talk to them,they might refund it.
They said every country has standards and in some countries they have to lower volume.This has been a case in Europe where courts directed Apple to reduce volume because hearing loss could ake place
Its either that the hardware itself is different or its software wise lowered in which case an equalizer should do the tricks

First of all thanks a lott shoaib n naked_universe for providing vital information about this sad issue in dis thread! For the past 1 week i went really mad,after hearing the SQ of my pal's iphone 4s (UK model).... Mine is nearly half of his output volume But am slowly getting used to this low output sound....... Really unfair on apple..... Could hav made some alternative way for audiophile folks....

try to go back and get a refund as it is jst a few days since you bought

Where did you buy it from?
Cause if we can get somebody at the store to compare our iphone's to UK model your friend has,then that will be alot of help.
I was thinking of buying Sony EX earphones or Apple in-ear earphones,don't if they will do anything.
We have to gather as many people with this problem and create a serious issue for Apple to do something.
I bought from Imagine Stores,Worli.
I went to iStore,Phoenix Mills,Lower Parel and they changed my earphones only.
Over that i've paid from credit card,i do not know if they refund on credit card or give a store credit.

Hey guys !! First of all gud to c so many guys writng in .okay the excuse which the apple executives are giving about the eu countries limit is totally false coz my iphone 4s uk sounds amazing n if i m nt wrong uk comes under eu countries list .I m from delhi I had a talk with them again regarding this and all they had to say was the volume limit restrictions and advised me to wait for te next ios update which can fix it i took tat info with a grain of salt coz i dnt thnk so it will b of ne help coz how can all devices running on same firmware sound diffrent .i have even tried downgrading the firware to 5.0 but tat also dint help.I wud advise U guys nt to try tat coz unless u knw how to jailbreak n unlock n all tat jazz.And one more thng tat the default iphone eq wud make the volume even lower so tats nt gonna help .one thng u can do is convert ur songs to 128 bit rate ,this u can do thru itunes on the summary tab of ur phone tat will definately improve the volume.n if u planning to buy new headfones or inears try sennheiser i thnk they r really good and affordable
Its unlikely tat u will get a refund coz i have had a history with istore and at max they will give u a credit note entitling u to buy an apple product only from their store within 6 months so nt exactly a refund but u can try.u can further push ur luck by gettng a replacement in form of new retail box which is very much possible and c if tat sounds ne bettr if still it doesnt work atleast u will again njoy unboxing ur iphone lol .

Its nt tat difficult to get this issue resolved coz apple ppl consider it as a rare case so they nt taking it seriously.v all can try n get it escalated.i have done tat in past wen my iphone 4s uk dint work with indian sim operators and there wer many more like me and trust me guys within 2 days my fone was working on every carrier, so sum positives to b taken from tat too.lets just hope v crack this one too. Call them on regular basis try talkn to the 2tier support or the technical dept and i hope it will b solved .

jus a follow up sohaib wid refrence to this matter finally yesterday i gave my cell to apple istore and dey r givin me a replacement which would take 5 buisness day . i had bought my 4s can u imagine on the 15th of this month and within no time its gone back cant imagine apple is so freakin laid with the quality of their products and plus on top of that no immediate replacement.can u pls help with a email id which for apple customer service india .thnx

u sure u gettn a replacement or a refurbished one coz incase of a replacement its on the spot whereas wen u get a refurbished one they take around 3-5 days n if tats the case then u shld nt accept it coz y will u settle with a refurbished one wen u paid for a new one.gimmie ur email id ill mail u the apple id.

u bet i will be getting one which is the all the more frustrating i spoke to a senior guy at apple asia support yesterday his name is deepak and he told me he will resolve this issue asap i told him bluntly that i still cant figure out why i paid such a steep price for iphone and i told him i totally regret my decision.he also told me the iphones marketed in india r restricted to that low sound issue from headphones to which i replied that there was lady who had bought the 4s from the same store and the enginner himself told me that that my handset def has a harware issue.i had bought this handset on the 15th of jan 2012 can u imageine huhhhhhh!!.anwayz my email id is email@example.com thnx

1)replace my id here for blah_blah
2)send on several different mail exchange aka @(exmaple i have given above and i will receive your mail and reply and then you will know which email is mine
i'm not giving it here as spam bot may pick it up and spam my mail
as for the problem:
they declined to replace my phone,apple took a u-turn and said they don't do sales so its my problem with retail
also i have been having speaker problems now as well,explained below:
when i unlock the sound of unlocking is high sometimes andlow the other times
Apple told me to get a refurbished model
i will be going to the istore phoenix to give my phone for replacement,when are you picking up yours
are they giving you refurbished or new?

we should all call one person or bomb apple with mails otherwise it isn't gonna get solved
