Something to really consider before you future authors start styling your content pages...ask yourself:

Am I choosing a font that is resident on the iPad or is this font only native to my machine?

Apple has an FAQ just or you...be sure you reference this before finalizing for publishing!

Summary

When you create a book with iBooks Author, be sure to use iPad-safe fonts for a consistent user experience.

This is unfortunate, and I hope that the ability to embed fonts appears in the not so distant future.

Since EPUB3 supports embedding fonts, it's a little confusing that this isn't (yet?) supported in iBooks Author.

This is a serious drawback. One thing that will fool you is that you can select non-iPad safe fonts if you click the Fontbutton in the upper right corner of the interface. There you can select and apply all the fonts on your Macs system. I did this because I didn't find the fonts I wanted in the list.

    Now I know why...

Hope to see a change soon.

It would be good to ask for this feature at
