Q: Power Cords

Hi. I have three power cord/adapters for my MacBook Pro at different locations. What I am finding is that where the smaller cord comes out of the adapter to the computer, the wires are coming uncovered and it looks like the connection may be broken. Is there a way to repair this rather than buy another one at $79?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

You mean the cable cover is frayed where it exits the power adapter? I've repaired this before, but it is difficult and I can't recommend it. Essentially it involves cracking open the power pack case with a chisel, and re-wiring further up the cable. You might try looking for discount power supplies on sale at places like Other World Computing. Due to the proprietary Magsafe connector, you need to look for genuine Apple adapters.
