Every single time I connect my phone, iTunes syncs the same 27 songs over to my phone.

These tracks have had zero changes to them. I have tried reinstalling iTunes, and converting my ID3 Tags multiple times.

What else can I do?

iPhone 4, Windows 7, iOS 4 iTunes 10.2.1.1

Now I have removed all ID3v1 tags as well. Problem persists.

If you have converted the tags multiple times, the tracks have not had "zero changes." Each of those conversions rewrites the file.

First of all, leave the tracks alone.

When you do automatic syncing, iTunes is "supposed" to only sync songs that have had any kind of change. For reasons that are not clear, it occasionally picks up tracks that don't seem to have been changed at all.

Thanks typical useless poster. I wonder if your other 8162 posts are as unhelpful.

If I dock my phone, it will sync 27 songs.

I'll undock my phone. And wait a moment then dock it again. It will sync the same 27 songs.

So it's not random, and it's not because I changed the files. It's done this since I had the phone (release day) and I'm only just now addressing it because I'm sick of waiting for it to sync tracks that are unchanged.

So "for reason that are not clear" iTunes picks the same 27 songs to sync every single time across hundreds of syncs.

So I'm still looking for answers. I'm someone at least responded, but I sure wish it would've been someone helpful instead of someone cynical and useless.

I can't be any help, but I do have the same issue.  iTunes seems to be doing that with 24 of my songs, and it happens on both my iPhone & iPad.  Not a huge issue to me, but it is annoying when nothing has changed in those files!!

It is annoying that i've had this problem happen on my XP laptop, and now my mac. And i'm in excess of 400 songs. You think 27 takes awhile. I've even called apple. And they have zero help. I've googled and tried everything on google. Obviously apple should be able to figure this out.

Same here.  About 250 songs, every time.  It's getting really annoying.

Has anyone tried deleting all the songs on their device and putting them back on?

Same here - 172 tracks every time. Between this and the seriously buggy Homeshare, this is a really naf release of iTunes. I've dicscovered both problems in the same week...

I don't use automatic sync, though every time I transfer new songs from iTunes to my iphone 4, it will transfer an additional 29 songs. Every time!

If I select 14 tracks and drop onto my iPhone, iTunes tells me it is transferring 43 tracks. It is extreemely frustrating!

I've repeatedly had this problem, I found a temporary quick fix for my case though.

For any album that had a song that did this, I opened up the Info pane with all the ID3 tags on iTunes for the whole album then just ticked the boxes where the songs shared all the same data and just clicked OK.

For some reason this would stop that song being synced over and over again.

    Also, nice put down.
