Q: 2008 Mac Pro, Lion, and a flaky mouse?
For some reason, shortly after upgrading to Mac OS X Lion, my 2008 Mac Pro has developed intermitent problems with my Logitech Desktop Wave mouse. The problem seems primarily associated with the left mouse button and includes problems selecting files and highlighting text, problems dragging, random double-clicks, and general weirdness.
Here's what I've done so far:
- Replaced the mouse batteries
- Updated to the latest version of the Logitech Control Center (3.5.1-23)
- Checked the system preferences for Mouse, Universal Access, and the Logitech Control Center
- Reset the PRAM
- Restarted the MacPro
Nothing works. I even substituted my existing Logitech mouse for another one and the problem remains. This has gotten to the point where it's driving me absolutely batty. The only thing that I haven't checked is the PRAM battery inside my MacPro, which is about 4 years old, but I'm not having any problems with the date and time resetting, which is usually indicative of a failing PRAM battery. Please help me save my sanity.
Thanks,
Kelly
