Q: 2008 Mac Pro, Lion, and a flaky mouse?

That's an interesting question. I'm running (2) 20" Apple Cinema Displays connected to an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB. I'll check out your link and report back.

At idle, kernel_task is running at .3-.5%, but disconnecting and reconnecting the DVI connectors didn't have any effect for me.

Plus, I'm not really having issues with jumpiness, as the user's post describes. My mouse problem has more to do with not being able to click and drag windows on the first attempt, the inability to click and drag lines of text, random double clicks instead of single clicks, and stuff like that.

However, if kernel_task is suppose to idle at 1-2%, that's clealry not happening.

I'm starting to suspect that this is indeed a hardware problem.

I just switched the primary mouse button from left to right in System Preferences>Mouse and the mouse is clearly more responsive, which likely indicates that something is wrong with the left mouse button. Still not sure why the other Logitech mouse had a similar problem, albeit not as bad. Perhaps there's an issue with the Logitech LX8 Cordless Mouse.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Okay, well maybe not. I disconnected my second monitor and the flaky mouse issues seem to have dissapeared. More to come.

So this is clearly a Mac OS X Lion issue?

Yes, I did. I'm currently running Logitech Control Center 3.5.1-23. I did have the wireless receiver USB flash-card looking receiver connected to one of my Apple Studio Displays so I moved it to the Mac Pro itself and that seems to have helped, especially with selecting dragging windows.

However, I'm still having a little trouble highlingting and selecting text and filenames.
