Q: icloud space refund

I stupidly bought extra space in icloud before checking out what it could and (more importanly) couldn't do! Unlike other online storage services, it is extremely prescriptive and basically useless to me since I need to share files, don't want to use Outlook and need to upload all types of files. So.. can anyone resolve the apparently impossible matter of applying for a refund? I can't find a simple contact method which will get me to human being with whom to discuss this particular issue.

all advice gratefully recieved!

regards

For the method of downgrading your storage please see

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4009#StorageDowngrade

however their Terms and Conditions say: 'downgrades to your storage plan will take effect on the next annual billing date' and this is reiterated on the Help pages. Once page does suggest you can cancel immediately for a proportional refund but the link for intructions simply leads you to the same pages which state that the downgrade will take place on the next renewal date.

iCloud Support starts here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/ - but will ask for a hardware serial number and you will presumably need AppleCare to proceed.

If you don't happen to have AppleCare as a result of a recent purchase of hardware it will probably cost you more to speak to them than to pay for the upgrade for the next year .

Thanks Roger, that's kind of what I had found. It has become now a matter of principle since one should be ale to cancel a purchase within a reasonable period but Apple seem to be above that kind of normality.

I'll get there in the end... ;-)
