Now I have typed another indent, and my next paragraph is also indented!
I seems that my page is becoming narrrower and narrower!
Surely there is a way to remove the indents.

This is the sort of rediculous situation that often wastes hours of my time whenever I use Pages. There seems to be so many simple problems created in normal typing with no intuative solurions in the program or answers to help questions available.

Stop hitting Tab, that just pushes it to the next lower level.
Shift Tab pushes it back a level and to ensure there is no list in the selected paragraph, choose None from the Lists button on the Toolbar.

I'm finding this very annoying too,
although to be honest I have only spent about 15 minutes trying to get a fix,
but any advice is appreciated.
I am not hitting Tab,
and Shift Tab does nothing to push the indent back.
It just seems to keep creating automatic indented lists everytime I use the "-" at the beginning of a sentence.
This should not be automatic by default. I should have the ability to switch automatic on.

I found the fix :
Top right of toolbar, second row of toolbar, just above the ruler,
select the little icon with horizontal lines.
It will give you some options for what kind of lists you would like.
Select the text you want to remove the indents from , and select the option for "none" from the little icon mentioned above.
Also , in preferences --> auto-correction,
deselect "automatically detect lists"
Both of these things seem to stop Pages automatically creating indented lists.

Glad you discovered "None from the Lists button on the Toolbar".
