Jan 11, 2012 4:24 PM in response to slaforby Vaspra,(Don't know if this has been mentioned in these 6 pages) Can't we just be aloud to at least delete the free apps history? No money is transferred, it doesn't go on the iTunes receipt, and it makes up most of the junk space.

Feb 2, 2012 11:58 PM in response to slaforby yosefsnipes,So I don't know if someone already said this because quiet frankly I don't feel like searching through 6 pages of "I don't know but I would like to" and "Apple needs to do so & so".. Here's an HELPFUL answer. You can't permenatly delete apps, but you CAN hide them.
1.Go to iTunes, click "iTunes Store".
2.At the top click "App Store", and once it loads, scrol all the way down to the bottom where there are a bunch of links.
3.Click "Purchased" under "Features".
4.Once the Purchased page comes up, Click "Apps".
5.Then find the apps that you want to hide, and put your cursor over the icon and an X will show up at the top left... CLICK.
And you're done.

Feb 9, 2012 8:05 PM in response to slaforby Sylvia Mae,I do see that the "Hide" option was implemented. I also understand the potential need to keep the history of purchased apps; however, is there a possibility to have an opportunity to permanently delete free apps? The are some free apps that were downloaded on my account and deleted right away. I do not want them and I never will. They were never purchased and I really don't want them in my history. Could the please be an option for permenant removal of unwanted free apps? Please?

Feb 10, 2012 9:53 AM in response to Sylvia Maeby yosefsnipes,Like I said, there is no way as of right now to permanently delete apps from your account. Hiding them is the same as deleting them from your list because it does just that, it removes them from your list and hides them in a list in your account settings that you can only reach if you sign in on your computer. So honestly, unless someone is looking for your unwanted apps, they will not find them accidentally.

Open iTunes, login with your apple id and password
Go to the apps tab
You will see all of the apps you've downloaded
Hover the mouse over the app you would like to hide, and click on the x to do so.
I'm using version 10 of iTunes

May 3, 2012 5:09 AM in response to slaforby AlchemyFire,+1 on the option to perminantly delete a purchase, not just hide. I have hundreds of apps that I have downloaded over the years to try out some of them are just rubbish, some are no longer supported/updated, and some of them, I'm not entirely proud of. It's my account, and if I really want to delete an app, I should be able to.

May 24, 2012 8:41 PM in response to Demoby DanGreene,What would be awesome is if they could allow you to choose a "Status" for each App you have purchased. You could choose "Active" which would keep the App in Sync, make it easily accessible for download/installation when you choose not to use it, and so on and so forth. OR... You could make the particular purchase "Inactive". Inactive App Purchases would be moved to a seperate list out of sight and out of mind. If you ever wanted to retrieve the App you could simply go into the list of Inactive Apps and Activate it. The Sum of the two lists would be your purchase history, so that solves the problem you mentioned, if it was really a problem to begin with. You'd think it wouldn't be too difficult to keep a permenant purchase history that the end-user has no access to, and making a list of purchases just for the end-user that he/she can modify at will.

May 24, 2012 10:41 PM in response to DanGreeneby jyad,Dan amazing suggestion, I hope someone from Apple will read it and start acting on it, cause it is so annoying to receive, updates in your itunes for programs you don't even have anymore on your iphone or ipad. If anyone reads this post and agrees, "Like" DanGreene post, maybe Apple will notice a big demend on that issue....

Jun 3, 2012 10:51 AM in response to slaforby HiTherehxjwnosmf,Hi, you cannot delete them but if you slide on the app as if there was a slide to delete feature you can hide the app from your purchased list! Isn't that handy? I hope I helped!

Oct 7, 2012 3:24 AM in response to slaforby benniehier,I have 3 iPads used by multiple persons intended for totally different things.
One iPhone 4s has been stoel and was replaced with an android phone.
Yes i use the possibility to have multiple divices on my iPad account.
All apps from the stolen iPhohe still popup as apps to be updated on the iPads appstores.
All apps of iPad1 popup on the two other iPads making an "update all" impossible
Now there are 72 apps that i have to go through each time updates are signalled. I hate an app with numbers on the right corner telling me there are multiple messages. Now during my business presentations the customers are mildly mentioning that my iPad needs 'some' updates. That is not professional.
I would like to define what apps are on what device because i dont want the games of my kids popping up on my business iPad and vice versa.
Especially the kids have downloaded many many games they dont use anymore. They are getting older and their interests change frequently.
Another proposal would be a possibility to mark the apps you want to update, before the appstore application starts doing the upgrade. Now it does that immediately, the app is closed and i have to start it over, first i see the old list, then it refreshes for the new list after waiting several seconds and then i am back to the beginning of the list and i have to remember where i was in my very long list.
A simple checkmark at the beginning of the appstore application on the iPad would also work.
If that would be remembered within the list for the future and if that would also be device specific that would also do the trick to my opineon without interfering with any purchase lists.
