Same thing here. I'd feel better if it wasn't just two of us in this boat.

Hey Jimmie, at least at makes it slightly more likely to be a bug rather than human error. Not much more though

This worked for me.
Specifically...it's will give you a scary screen saying everything on your machine will be deleted, but I jumped right into it and said "bring it". worked.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on
- Quit iCal.
- Choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu and click iCloud.
- Remove the checkmark in the checkbox next to Calendars.
- Close System Preferences and wait about a minute.
- Open System Preferences and choose iCloud.
- Replace the checkmark next to Calendars.
- Close System Preferences.
- Open iCal and test to see if the issue has been resolved.

It worked form me to uncheck the calendar option inside the icloud icon (in general preferences, the gears icon). An then check it again. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions guys, no luck for me though I'm afraid! it worked for perhaps all of two seconds, and then popped up about the password again...

I got it working! I'll tell you what I did (some of the things probably didn't actually do anything, but I can't tell):
Turn off wi-fi through the icon on the menu bar
In iCal, under the 'Calendars' drop down menu click 'Refresh All'
In iCal Preferences>Accounts, delete iCloud account - it'll prompt that all data will be removed from iCal.
(This one probably didn't need to be done) Try to add iCloud account back in the accounts preference - won't work as wi-fi is still turned off.
Turn wi-fi back on
add iCloud account as normal in the iCal Preferences>Accounts pane.
Et Voilà! Hopefully this is a permanent fix and it won't pop up again later....

Scratch that, a few hours later and the same alert pops up....

I personally can not stand companies that put applications out that are clearly not ready for publication. In this regard, APPLE *****. I've not had so much difficulty in migrating over to this "stinkin" iCloud crap. Having to rebuild my schedule because of this stupid password glitch is rediculous. I almost was a happy camper switching over to MAC. Can't say I'm all that pleased.

Hey 55therrm, I feel your pain, and everyone having this issue is no doubt annoyed that the software isn't working as it should be, but if we stay constructive in the thread we may be able to help each other out. I havent had to deal with this situation for quite a while because I started using something called FantastiCal. It's by no means an ideal fix as it costs around £13 on the mac app store, but it keeps all my iCal calendars up to date flawlessly with iCloud, and there hasn't been a single issue with it this far. Apart from only having a small calendar display (it drops out of the menu bar) it pretty much completely replaces iCal, and in a sense solves this issue.

Thank you so much! I did what you suggested - unchecking calendars and then rechecking and it fixed my problem. Much appreciated!

Agree with your "stinkin" iCloud crap comment. I got the error messages to go away, but lost all my calender entrys.
