Q: FaceTime App Missing - Bought from Dubai used in UK

Hey Everyone,

I bought my iPad2 from Dubai to use in the UK. However when I set it up, there is no FaceTime app and no FaceTime settings. I've Googled different things for this but cannot find a solution. Can anyone please help??

iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1

FaceTime is not available in certain Middle Eastern countries.

FaceTime has been removed from iPad's sold in some Middle Eastern countries at the express wish of the respective Governments. The UAE is included within this restriction.

I had the same problem with a new iPad Pro, purchased in Dubai, on the way OUT of the country. When I got back to the UK and set up my iPad, FaceTime was not there.

Apple were extremely unhelpful, saying there was nothing they could do.

Well, there is! There is a workaround. Go to Settings / General / Language & Region. Change your region to Egypt. Restart and you should find that FaceTime is restored and working.
