Feb 6, 2012 12:00 PM in response to rustyk123by gdjgarcia,I can confirm that I have seen most of these issues on my iPhone 4S. The first being the signal issue. The signal issue started after I stupidly updated my phone to 5.0.1. I wasn't having any battery issues like some were describing with 5.0, but I thought I would update. The battery drain wasn't what I would have expected from previous experiences with other iPhones, but it wasn't excessive and it wasn't getting hot. After the update, for 3 weeks, my phone was showing "No Service" all over town. I spoke with Apple and they said it was a carrier problem. I changed my SIM card and it was still doing this. I got 3 new SIM cards, 3 new phones, and countless restarts, fresh update, fresh download, wipe computer, set up phone as new, no iCloud, etc etc. I tried to return the phone but wasn't able to because it wasn't the original serial number. Then the battery issue came up. It was draining like 20% overnight in standby. I called Apple and the "Senior Tech" said this was normal. It was the settings that I had. I had to turn EVERYTHING off, if I expected it to get better battery life. The thing is the phone's setting had been the same for more than a month and unexpectedly it started draining the battery. The only solution I have been able to come up with thus far is to get rid of the phone. Apple isn't responding/doesn't care. To me the problems don't seem like they will ever end and Apple isn't going to stand behind its product. 3+ months and my phone doesn't work the way I was told it would and Apple says that the battery drain, the "No Service" message, the Safari cache issue, the yellow screen, the Audio problem, etc etc are all normal and don't worry about it. I know I am just one customer but I will no longer buy Apple products after this experience.

Feb 6, 2012 12:13 PM in response to gdjgarciaby Sam027,I agree with you, no support from Apple they claim world wide guaranty, I am in South Africa MTN claim if the phone was not purchased from them then no service, Well done Apple for having such great distrubution partners.
I was planing to convert out total company phones to i -phone but have desided to stay with Black Berry.
Cheers Apple will not see me again.

The Dock Audio problem cant be normal when this happens sound will not play from phone, headphones, airtunes, or Bluetooth the only way to get any sound is plug in a dock speaker, in my case the USB cable for my car stereo.
With my 3Gs, I had no problems up until about a month ago when my battery expanded and ruined my phone, Apple Engineering Department's response: It is normal for the battery to expand larger then the phone it you charge it too many times. How many times is that? We don't know. What can be done? We can sell you a new one with a contract, or for $80 we can sell you a used one.
Ever since Steve Jobs has died, Apple support has been terrible to me. They don't want to do any repairs on anything I have bought from them, they make up some excuse not to. Such as a restore should fix that (Tried several times), ran diagnostics and there seem to be nothing wrong (video card is acting up), the 3Gs battery.

You restore the device and use a backup because you want to use your phone the way it was. 2.) The phone still has the same problems so you call back. You are told to restore the phone but not to use the backup because it might be corrupt. 3.) The phone still has the same problems so you call back. Then you are told to re-download the update file because that might be corrupt and then do another restore. 4.) The phone still has a problem so then they will exchange the phone for you. The service exchange phone has the same problem. Start back at 1.)
In between each phone they tell you to go get a new SIM card. Oh and don't forget the "diagnostic" at the Apple store or over the phone. Of course they don't see any issue with the phone.
Do you think that we all are just making up all these issues. I just don't understand why you can't support your product!
THIS IS BS APPLE. You know there are issues and refuse to resolve these issues. Instead you play games.

Feb 6, 2012 1:38 PM in response to gdjgarciaby rustyk123,This is close for me, they see my issues with my phone, not my laptop, they say it is the backup, so now my phone is blank have not evan set it up yet and still problems are there. This is just a terrible way to treat customers. Now I am starting to wonder do I really want to spend $2400 with apple on my next laptop in a few month?

There were a number of problems with the 2011 macbook pro and Apple responded the same way. Magically, the 2011 macbook pros that were ordered a couple months after the release didn't have the problems. Well what wasn't so magic was a hardware change. I have to replace my iMac soon. I have decided to build my own desktop after these experiences. I really don't want to switch but I have no faith in Apple.

Apple has just been Samsunged.
Don't support Apple with iPhone 5... every single iPhone and iOS since release has had issues.... iPhone 5 and iOS 6 won't be any different.
iOS 5 release date October 12th.
Feb 6th - Approaching 4 months and no fixes yet... iOS 5.0.1 was a fail and iOS 5.0.1 9A406 was another failure... see the pattern Tim Cook?

Feb 7, 2012 6:59 AM in response to mritaccaby rustyk123,I guess this is true, they have admitted to faults in their devices before but never accepted that the fault may be theirs. For example, the G5 Video Problems, they sad it was the capacitor manufacter's fault, when they chose that manufacture based on price. Also, Nvidia video card failures in the older macbook pro.
I cant recall one they took the blame for, guess that is apple.

iOS 5.1 going to be released with a new product launch - on March 9th!
It looks like Apple doesn't care about whether or not we have issues... it's more important about product launches and money than fixing issues!

To all the frustrated people out there:
Don't think that it is going to get any better any sooner! This is not the first time and I know it won't be the last.
My only solution to all the issues was to sell my iPhone 4S and not continue to buy Apple products. I had been using Apple since a kid but I guaranty my next computer won't be.

Feb 10, 2012 11:37 AM in response to tanu_jobanrocksby gdjgarcia,the iOS 5.1 update should bring back the ability to toggle 3G off/on on the iPhone 4S. For most people the ability to toggle 3G off when the phone shows "No Service" does correct the issue. According to things I have read, Apple is using a 3G standard that not all carriers have implemented yet. As the carriers update their 3G networks, this issue will go away without having to sacrifice 3G speed over usability. The thing I don't understand though is if the iPhone supports EDGE(2G), why it won't automatically switch to the EDGE network when 3G isn't available. ???? We shouldn't be getting the "No Service" message. But we all have to wait 5 months to get a usable phone because Apple wants to protect it's image and products. Doesn't care about it's customers

I have replaced the device 3x already. I have wasted a monthly service fees for issues that have taken 5 months to fix - totally unacceptable.Apple seems to care more about legal lawsuits with Android then fixing it's iOS bugs.
Apple needs to get back to the drawing board and fix the buggy iOS and spend less time suing Android... it is taking a toll on their R&D!
They are producing products that are faulty and buggy and robbing us of our money!
