when i sign in to my wifi i get kicked off once my phone is locked any reasoning behind this?

This only happens with my wifi at work and my I.T. department does not have a solution says it may be because cisco doesnt play nicely with ios.

Seems to lose the connection after the lock screen is enabled and happens about a minute after that? Any ideas why?

That's normal behavior.  Unless plugged into a power outlet, when the iPhone goes to sleep, the WiFi radio is disabled in favor of the lower-power consuming 3G data network.  This helps conserve battery life.  If plugged in to a power outlet, WiFi will remain on when the phone goes to sleep.

    This setting cannot be changed.

Yes I understand it is supposed to do that but my issue is once i unlock my phone I ALWAYs have to manually select this said wifi network. Where as in other wifi networks I m always back in wifi once I unlock my phone again.

that make sense?? haha doesnt to me but it is happening.

Wifi that your office/work primarily uses, or you getting a wifi signal from other source in your office?

If it's the primarily one then it shouldn't do that, but if the other one it going ask you to join the network - when your phone locks and then you unlock it.

I called Apple Advisor, theysaid that it's abnormal and suggested pass to apple service provider for checking. However, I found most topices were stated that would be a software issue.

Till now,  I did not found any solution for this reporting issue. I don't whether Apple has aware this issue and some patchs/new version IOS is deploying for problem resolving.

    Disappointment for Apple service.

Yup, since ios 6 , wifi connectivity needs to reconnect after lock screen.

    Very annoying.

    Ios 5 was fine.

Also when using the remote app for apple tv... After lock screen it takes forever to connect! Unuseable and not thought through.. When i connect (instantly) with iphone and ios5, my ios6 ipad as well... Lol, good job guys..;)

Also, the gateway issue since ios 6 : 255.255.255.0 , 255.255.0.0 - you screwed a lot of musicians. ( you know what im talking about my dear apple friends..)

So many software rewrites had to be made, having to  use static ips etc...

Let me tell you one thing : if you update the Ios, take what works and addon, dont break it... Really... I would change my ipad back to ios 5 anytime... This release was a complete disaster compared to Ios 5 ... Steve would be thrilled....

Anyway, no hard feelings... Just fix it please, or let us reinstall ios 5.

Please take this to heart (and to the devs) ;)

    Thankyouuuu:):)

Dont see an option of editing my thread, so i am adding a correction here.:

"When i connect (instantly and always) with iphone and ios5, my ios6 ipad connects as well (not always)..."

Also airplay doesnt work as good as in ios5 .. Apple tv update anytime soon? Or ios 6.6.6 ;)

    Thanks :)

    Ok, thank me later.

I have an iPhone 4S with 6.1.3 and same issue/problem since the beginning.

    Solution:

Turn screen auto-lock in settings to "NEVER", and wifi will stay connected while screen off. I've tested it after waiting 1 hour with screen manually turned off.
