I just bought this keyboard and i cant figure out how to get it working on my logic pro 9 software. Do i need software for the keyboard? Do i need to set something up on my logic first? I am plugging it into my computer through a usb port not a midi one so i dont know if that matters.

Logic Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Are you kidding? How have you managed to get it out of the box in the first place? And all on your own? {applause} Have you tried reading ANY sort of manual, leaflet, readme document or manual first, before unleashing your tsunami of near insulting ignorance upon us?

    "Arent douchee"?

I just did. Follow the provided link, read the manual. It's okay with me that you are new to this, it is not okay to me to hold your toddly hand as if you are helpless and iniativeless - that attitude ("tell me what to do, I'm too dumb to figure anything out myself") won't get you very far...

@Eriksimon, you're a condescending p'rick. keep in mind that this is the internet: answers at the click of a mouse (as opposed to the old method of hunting for answers in a manual, which is comparable to doing research from a book). the whole point of the internet, in this case, is to expedite the research process to help us quickly find the information that we need.

so for the sake of being useful and informative, instead of patronizing the guy and making yourself look like a complete a'sshole to every other person who lands on this thread, just be resourceful without the condescendence.

    @writing...

Indeed, the internet is am extremely useful resouce.... but the OP isn't searching the net for answers.. He's asking a question without even doing the most basic of work himself..... and frankly, he isn't going to learn anything that way..

"Give a man a fish and you can feed him for a day.... teach a man to fish.. and he can feed himself.."

Erik has helped me out more times than I can recall.. via his posts and responses both here and on LPH... and is probably, along with Pancenter, one of the most helpful people on this forum currently...

So please bear that in mind before you jump down his throat... and cast judgement...

    Oh.. and while I remember...

    Happy New Year Erik!

    Cheers...

    Nigel

You fail to understand that information is NOT knowledge. The Internent is but one reason why we have so many lazy bozos who only want to be told answers... they have never learned to think, or have learned how to learn.

I'm with Erik all the way!

    To the O.P.

These forums are populated by users like yourself, many of us have been using Logic for years, long before Apple purchased the software. You purchased professional software and hardware, both of these came with a manual, if you read them and try to soak up as much as you can you will be able to pose questions that are more specific. It's not anyone's job here to walk you though all of this, it would be incredibly time consuming, even for a sizable group of people. Just because someone buys the software and hardware doesn't mean your entitled to help.. you must do some work on your own.

Happy new year everybody, including to the indignated scouser.

Why are you reacting to a post that is almost a year old? Don't answer that. Are you going to reply like this to every condescending post on the internet? Then you have your work cut out for you. Check out YouTube.

I usually don't react with this attitude, but sometimes I just need to.

The original question is the equivalent of going online and asking how to change a lightbulb ("I've been told you need to screw it in, but is it clockwise or anticlockwise? And how do I get it to give light after that?")

These days, I either ignore dumb/lazy questions or just reply with a link to the manual.
