Is it connecting via Airport or Ethernet?

So we know more about it...

At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, report the OSX version listed there, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware> and report this upto but not including the Serial#...

    Hardware Overview:

    Model Name: eMac

    Model Identifier: PowerMac6,4

    Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (1.2)

    Processor Speed: 1.42 GHz

    Number Of CPUs: 1

L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB

    Memory: 2 GB

    Hi,

On the 'About This Mac', i don't see what you listed above.

    Mine says;

    (a big)

    X

    Mac OS X

Serial Number (When I click on 'Serial Number' it says, Build 5R106)

    Memory: 128 MB

    Processor: PowerPC G4

    TM & (C) Apple Computer. Inc. 1983-2001

This is all and I don't see "more info"

Does it help to figure out?

I was wondering if this is too old computer but than, it was connected two days ago.....

Thisgs I touched was about the 'Network' settings.

    Location:

    Show:

    TCP/IP

    PPP

    Proxies

    Modem

    Configure:

    and Apply Now

and I am not sure what I toutched and that made the internet disconnected....

    Hope this helps...

    Thank you.

Well, this is tough without knowing eben what version of the OS you're running, but with only 128 MB of RAM it has to be an older version.

When you click on About this Mac you don't see someting like this???

    About thisMac.jpg

If you don't know the model, find the Serial# & use it on one of these sites, but don't post the Serial# here...

That list is from System Preferences>Network>Show>Internal Modem or such...

    NetworkModem.jpg

I don't think you clicked on the Apple at the top left of the screen & chose About this Mac did you?

Anyway, what all is showing in those tabs.

Of course these ar not from the Apple on the top left.

These are from networking set up taps and I think, my interent connection got disconnected when I touched the options on this perferences...

    Location:

    Show:

    TCP/IP

    PPP

    Proxies

    Modem

    Configure:

    and Apply Now

And these are from what I told you that I got from Apple logo click, if you missed it.

(Just like your sceen printed on the earlier post but missing "software updates" and "more info" buttons.)

    (a big)

    X

    Mac OS X

Serial Number (When I click on 'Serial Number' it says, Build 5R106)

    Memory: 128 MB

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712

Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON?

The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.

Could the 10.1.4 be a typo? I'm not sure there ever was one of those, I think it went from 10.0.4 to 10.1.5, but that'd be really ancient.

    Could it say 10.4.11 instead?

    Hey BD!

If the Poster's eMac is one of the very first 700 Mhz models, it originally shipped with OS 9.

    No OS X.

OS X Puma did have a 10.1.4 version, as I have an old OS X archived update with 10.1.4.

So, it might be possible that the OP is correct with his info.

This could be a really old eMac.

The About this Mac pop-up window, if I remember was very basic and was completely different from what has been the "standard" Get Info pop-up window since OS X 10.2 Jaguar.

    It looked like this

    volume-overlay.gif

It's entirely possible the OP has a very old eMac.

Thanks, there isn't much that can be done anymore though in 10.1.x if that is the case!
