Feb 11, 2012 8:54 PM in response to Yangdongby BDAqua,★HelpfulWell, this is tough without knowing eben what version of the OS you're running, but with only 128 MB of RAM it has to be an older version.
When you click on About this Mac you don't see someting like this???
If you don't know the model, find the Serial# & use it on one of these sites, but don't post the Serial# here...

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON?
The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.

Feb 13, 2012 6:20 PM in response to Yangdongby BDAqua,Could the 10.1.4 be a typo? I'm not sure there ever was one of those, I think it went from 10.0.4 to 10.1.5, but that'd be really ancient.
Could it say 10.4.11 instead?

Feb 13, 2012 8:29 PM in response to BDAquaby MichelPM,Hey BD!
If the Poster's eMac is one of the very first 700 Mhz models, it originally shipped with OS 9.
No OS X.
OS X Puma did have a 10.1.4 version, as I have an old OS X archived update with 10.1.4.
So, it might be possible that the OP is correct with his info.
This could be a really old eMac.
The About this Mac pop-up window, if I remember was very basic and was completely different from what has been the "standard" Get Info pop-up window since OS X 10.2 Jaguar.
It looked like this
It's entirely possible the OP has a very old eMac.
