I paid for iTunes Match and went through the process of having all my songs matched. I then did the same thing on my laptop adding it into my iTunes Match account. Then mysteriously iTunes Match disappeared on both computers. Somehow it got turned off. Why? I didn't turn it off. when I turned it back on it had to go through the whole process again. It took much less time but I am worried that this will happen again and I won't have my music library covered. Can anyone tell me why this happened. Could it be because I signed out of my account and signed into another account to update and app and then signed back into my original account? Is that something I shouldn't do?

This has just happened to me as well. I signed out too, only because of Apple's down time last night and now it is asking if I want this computer to be authorized for iTunes Match. It was nearly a two day process before which I have only enjoyed now for about 3 days. Does this happen every time one logs out? If so, I find it redicules.

Just happened to me as well.  iTunes match had been working fine for 6 weeks.  It was working fine this AM, then, all the sudden it stopped working.  iTunes suggested that I log out, then log back in to iTunes Match.

So, I did - logged out, then logged in - and all of my iTunes Match music data is now missing and "Add to iCloud" is no longer availalbe for new music that I add to iTunes.  The iCloud column in iTunes is empty except for a few really, really old songs that I had forgotten that I ever bought - some from 2006 and 2007.

    Update:

My iTunes music does appear to be availalbe on all my iOS devices even though iTunes on my Mac does not show that the music is on iCloud.  It seems like, if you opt into iTunes Match that all music goes to iCloud - maybe this is a few feature in the latest iTunes - I just updated and did not read the update notes?

Sounds like you were logged out of your iTunes Store account. This will disable iTunes Match on that computer and require that you re-enable it after logging into your iTunes store account.

Yes, when ever you log out of your iTunes Store account you will have to re-enable iTunes Match. However, the scan will take a very small amount of time. The solution is to not log out of your iTunes store account.

Re-enable iTunes Match by pulling down Store > Turn on iTunes Match.

Did exactly that. But my iCloud music is still not showing up. Only my local music. When I activated iTunes Match again, it told me that some 11,000 songs are now available in my iCloud. But only a handful show up in my library. Any ideas?

You say only a handful are showing up in your library. Does you mean that you only have a handful of songs in your library, or that the cloud icon is only showing for a handful?

If it is the latter then that would be expected. You only see the icon if the song isn't stored locally.

No, it were just my local songs showing up. But now suddenly all the iCloud songs re-appeared. Tried a manual sync several times, but nothing. And now without any further interaction they are back. Maybe some server problems. Odd... ;-)

I can add a new twist to this. I probably did log out of my iTunes account - because Apple wouldn't let me by an iOS app for two days due to a bug that makes it look like the developer is modifying it when they aren't - and now that I have re-enabled it, my music matched very quickly but none of my playlist in iTunes are linked to iCloud at all. If I modify them on iTunes, they are not reflected on my iOS devices.

I can see no way of fixing this, except perhaps recreating all the playlists, but then what happens on the iOS side?

EDIT: Scratch that. Match was off on my iPhone too. Same reason. I guess I understand why they have to disable it, but what a pain. I only logged out because of BUGS in the store. Grrrr.

Well, after 3 weeks using iTunes Match I can tell I am a little disappointed and unsatisfied.

The initial step it took 5 days (I have a huge music lybrary) and this is understandable but yesterday, after sign out to my account and sign in again I had the problem too so I went to the store and clicked again on iTunes Match, the ridiculous thing is that they asked me to buy again, did not recognize me, this is misleading, I clicked again but was afraid.

Now, after half an hour waiting for matching informations I have not the service as before, I donàt know which songs are matched, uploaded or waiting as before, the iCloud status disappear and I added again using the view options, that's funny.

In addition, since I use the Match service I have to cancel tens of temp files in my iTunes folder every day and I also found some corrupted files on my HD (all songs that was perfect before tha "Match").

So, this Match service for now is bittersweet
