I am getting a black screen on reboot of Windows. It just started last night during a viewing of a video. The system shut down and started to reboot and went to black screen after the partition was selected from pressing the option key. The system had been working successfully for several months and was not part of an install. The reason for the shutdown was unknown but not an error as the shutdown appeared to be a normal Windows shutdown. The windows partition successfully booted under parallels and successfully shut down. Not I do not seem to be getting an audio alert when the icons appear for selection after pressing the option key.

I have seen several posts on fixing this during installs but not during normal operation. Does anyone have a suggestion other than wiping out the partition and reinstalling the Windows OS?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)
