Q: DVI connector for old iBook

I have an old iBook g4(6,5) I want to connect it to an external monitor or TV, so I can watch vidoes more comfortably. I ordered a mini DVI to DVI adapter but when it came it didn't fit the port on the iBook- the adapter connector was too big. Have they made the port bigger on more recent macs, and if so, does anyone know which connector I need?

The iBook G3 and G4 had Mini VGA ports, not Mini DVI. The Mini DVI connector is much deeper and isn't compatible.

The Mini DVI to DVI adapter was used on 12" Powerbook G4's, and the earlier Macbooks and iMacs.

There used to be a Mini VGA to VGA adapter, but a quick check on the Apple Store here didn't list it. If your TV or monitor has a VGA port you may be able to buy the adapter off eBay.
