Feb 14, 2012 7:39 AM in response to lesliefrombostonby peterfromlaguna niguel,Basically no - however you could make use of the alias feature of your iCloud account - keep your original abc@me.com account and add an xyz@me.com account - and simply use that - this is done within preference at iCloud.com - Mail - Pete

Feb 15, 2012 2:27 PM in response to gmardreby xFactor69,By changing apple ID, I meant that you crate a new one and leave the other :) I know changing the email which represents your apple ID doesn't influence your backups and purchases. But you can't change your abc@.com with doing this... As I told before, I don't want to change my abc@me.com. Just want to use it's mail service like it should be!

Feb 20, 2012 9:26 AM in response to williamimacby noemad73,Yes this is the problem apple is having. i already opened up a case with apple on this issue and they have been working on it for the last 2 months! the issue went all the way up to the engineers. i finally received an email back from them today that the @me address is finally removed from my account. so if i receive mail from icloud it will no longer go to the incorrect @me address, and to the address associated with my apple id. however, it still shows the incorrect email address in my icloud account on my phone. the guy i talked to said maybe deleting and re-adding the account would get rid of it, but it didn't. so i still have to see it on my phone, but at least it is no longer associated with my account, supposedly! so it looks like there really is nothing we, as consumers, can do about this issue. it took apple engineers just to delete it from my icloud account. insanity.

Mar 2, 2012 2:17 PM in response to kendrafromabby jimmydot,Also adding to this thread.
Before i switched over the iCloud, i was able to use alias email address using the Mail client on the iPad and iPhone. afterwards i was not able to. After finding this thread, i had done most of what some users had done without success, could only see the primary account email address when creating new email, i could reply with the alias. After taking all the information in from all of the threads i tried more more thing, which that was go to the alias page under preferences on the icloud.com/mail and just re-save the info. after a few minutes i was able again from the iPad and iPhone create new email message using any alias i had configured.
