Any way to detach them?
Download and read this free book fromO'Reilly press: Publishing with iBooks Author. The section Table of Contents begins on page 9.
you can have a different image on each chapter TOC page.
But it is best to do it right after you start, it is easy to mess up master image links etc.
also the image frame/placeholder will be the sames size location on each chapter. (you can change size & location but will apply to all chapter TOC pages.
so if you want to have different sizeed image or multiple images and in diferent locations etc. on each chapter TOC page, do the compsition in Photoshop etc at same size (they look different by they are the same size (in pixels)
- Start a new layout with basic template
- add 2 chapters
- go to the TOC page and drag and replace image of flower with new image, go to next chapter (use dot at bottom) Drag and replace image of flower with new image.
You now have 2 chapter TOCs with different images.
Works everytime i try
new book with basic template.
First add second chapter
1) click TOC page tab/button
2) select image drag new image and replace image
3) click second dot to go to next chapter (2)
4) drag in new photo (farmer guy is new photo, replaced b&w flow photo)
now click on frist dot to go back to chapter 1 TOC will be first photo draged in (nycity)
here is a sample .ibook and .iba of the file with images from the other templates pasted in the 2 chapter TOC pages and the 2 chapter header pages (4 different images) about 3 meg
Maybe that will help.
Not sure how to do links with this, let me know if it doesn't work.
Just tried the contemorary theme and it worked.
You proably at some point deleated the "main image" off the chapter page and that messed it up. or something like that.
you can add a new image to the chapter template, assign the "main image" template in inspector and apply changes.now that image is on all the chapter pages and linked to TOC page
try draging images onto the TOC pages again
now it should be working.
I know I have messed it up and then got it working again.
you can only have one unique image place holder on the TOC page
any additional images added to the TOC page will appear on all TOC pages.
If you want multiple unique images for each chapter TOC.
do the full screen composition in photoshop so it is a single image but looks like 2 etc.
like this, it is one image (black outline is just to show what the single image is, would not really have it)
but would look like 2 on the ipad
