A bug from iChat has managed to survive into Messages, and could really stand to be fixed. If, for whatever reason is happening under the hood, Messages cannot connect to an account (in my case, it is most often a corporate Jabber account), it will mark the account as "Offline" and the reason will be "a network error has occurred".  Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that it will ever retry that account again in its current condition, not even if I quit and restart Messages.

The usual solutions from iChat work - edit/save the server hostname, and then edit/save it back to its proper value, OR, disable and then re-enable the account.

But what SHOULD happen is that the lightning-bolt error-dialog should, as it does in mail and other apps, offer to then retry the connection (and then it should go without say, actually try to re-open the connection )
