Happened to me.
Here's how i fixed it:
- under System Preferences, completely remove/delete your iCloud account.
- also under System Preferences, completely remove your MobileMe account (if you are signed in)
- under Mail > Preferences > Accounts, delete your iCloud account completely.
- quit Mail
- re-add your account under System Preferences > iCloud
- re-open Mail.
mine took a couple restarts of Mail to completely fix, but that should just about do the trick. Try restarting your Mac if it still isn't working after that.

I have the same problem - no email being received after moving to the cloud. I was going to delete, then add back, my iCloud mail account but got stuck when the following field had to be filled in - "Outlook Web Access Server" Any idea what goes there? (I was very cautions, and tried to add my iCloud mail account before deleting it, so I didn't loose any of my current settiings.)
Running 10.6.8 here. Having the same problem this morning using the Mac Mail app. Have had the app manually configured to point to the mail servers for months, then this morning it won't accept my password. However, icloud.com on the web works just fine. Also my iPhone appears to work just fine to check my mail, iPad also. So I'm guess Apple has done something accidental or on purpose that orphans non-iCloud clients...
Hope they fix it soon.

No, because it works fine for me (also on Snow Leopard): though of course localized server problems are always a possibility. Are you sure you have the correct server settings? - imap.mail.me.com and smtp.mail.me.com and SSL required - people migrating from MobileMe often find that the MobileMe settings go on working for some time and then stop.
You could try removing the email account then setting it up using the procedure detailed here:

Yes, I have the correct server settings, although found that I did not have SSL clicked. Has not made a difference.
The app will not accept my password. I tried setting up a new account, but the servers there will still not accept my password through the mac mail app. I get the message " Unable to Connect" " The server returned the error: Moved: http://me.com/ move".
That's what made me guess that something changed that 'real' iCloud apps know about, but not 'non real' iCloud apps...
This happened the other day too, and just went away.
I know my password is fine because my iphone, ipad, and icloud.com work just fine.

Happened to me where iCloud Mail kept asking me for my password when I gave it it refused it. Getting the warning messages on iPhone & Mac. I deleted and reset iCloud and added my iCloud Mail account to Mail.app and still no joy.

There have been complaints of this nature. Are you able to log in and access the calendar and contacts OK? If you can do that it does suggest a server problem, in which case you can't really do anything except wait: though there is always the remote possibility that the email part of your account has become corrupted in some way.
If it doesn't clear up in a reasonable time you could try MobileMe Support (I know you're on iCloud but there is no free support for that unless you happen to have AppleCare, and MobileMe Support have helped some people). Go to http://www.apple.com/support/mobileme/ww/ and select your country. In the next window click on a category to expand it, then on a subject to get a link to 'live chat'.

Yeah just mail. I have had this before on my iPhone but after a while it did go away but very frustrating when you transfer a large amount of email over to iCloud and this happens!
I think after this I will be transferring more over to other accounts I can't have this happening out of the blue.
Thanks for the reply!

I just tried to do the official move from MobileMe to iCloud and the me.com/move site keeps sending me to the Find my iPhone feature. So it sounds like something is up today (March 18) with iCloud mail. I was just chatting with an Apple expert about it.

This can happen if you are signing in with the wrong ID - you may have an Apple ID for iTunes which is different from your MobileMe ID. You need to sign in with you @me.com email address (which is itself an Apple ID).
