Feb 26, 2012 10:29 AM in response to Bob300frontby jimmy boyfromchesapeake,I have iTunes 10.5.3.
There are all sorts of crazy "fixes" and I've tried a few but none work. It's obviously a bug in one of the new upgrades. Not every Genre gets the error message. Some get the error message every time, like Adult Contemporary, which is, unfortunately, my favorite. Some open up after a couple of tries and some open up on the first try. Go figure.

Feb 26, 2012 10:46 AM in response to Danger Cellby Danger Cell,Ok, so it is working on about every 5th try. Like other posts mentioned it will play a station just won't open genres. PITA but not radioless at least.

Feb 26, 2012 11:16 AM in response to Danger Cellby jimmy boyfromchesapeake,? It is an incorrect assumption that it is working every 5th try. Have no clue how you arrived at that since some open up as usual, others after a try or two and others not t all.
My Apply TV works on all Genres but sometimes I prefer using my puter's Bose speakers for the music rather than through my surround system.

Feb 26, 2012 12:01 PM in response to jimmy boyfromchesapeakeby Danger Cell,It is not an assumption....it is just a fact...it works every so often, period. About one out of 5 times at last try. But it is sporadic. Bottom line is it is mucked up no doubt.
-
Feb 26, 2012 12:09 PM in response to Danger Cellby jimmy boyfromchesapeake,No. It doesn't work every so often with mine. Yours might. Some of my genres do not open up at all. And it is not sporadic with mine. It is consistent.

Feb 26, 2012 4:43 PM in response to Danger Cellby Soviet Union,Have been experiencing this problem since at least 3:45 PM Eastern Standard Time. OS X 10.7.3 and iTunes 10.5.3
I find it odd that no one from Apple has made a statement or sent us messages.

I don't. Apple is not known for publicizing. The last time I saw something similar to this, people were posting and making the same sorts of comments, then about a week later the issue cleared up. No indication of acknowledgement there was an issue, what the issue was, or that it had been cleared up. That's just the way they operate.

Feb 26, 2012 11:33 PM in response to Danger Cellby SimonTemplar,Also getting tis error in North Carolina.
I DON'T WANT to listen to interent radio. However, I run a headless audio server based on iTunes as the database (actual play is through another app) all controlled by the Remote app.
Every time the Remote app makes a new connection with iTunes, it tries to refresh the Internet Radio stations....this error comes up....and the whole system is worthless until I get up, open Screen Sharing and dismiss the damned dialog box.
This is a few clicks beyond aggravating.
Hey Apple....how about fixing your buggy software???

Feb 27, 2012 1:38 AM in response to Danger Cellby ChristiaanHolman,Same here in the Netherlands, strangly enough, 'Ambient' with 170 streams is the only one that works.

Feb 27, 2012 3:04 AM in response to Danger Cellby britishaussie,Hello,
I posted this successful workaround in the in the iTunes for Windows section about the same error, but it works fine for Mac too. Can't leave you guys hanging!
Clicking this link gives you all the genres of iTunes Radio:
http://pri.kts-af.net/xml/index.xml?sid=09A05772824906D82E3679D21CB1158B&tuning_ id=1
Each genre has a unique number as menu_id in the XML, for example 70's Radio has 10037.
<kb:menu_record>
<kb:name>'70s Retro</kb:name>
<kb:menu_id>10037</kb:menu_id>
<kb:pass_count>5</kb:pass_count>
</kb:menu_record>
Use the link below, replacing tuning_id=10037 with the genre you want to find from the previous link.
http://pri.kts-af.net/xml/index.xml?sid=09A05772824906D82E3679D21CB1158B&tuning_ id=10037&show_field[]=description&show_field[]=long_description&show_field[]=num_users&show_field[] =max_users
This will show you what iTunes would have refreshed if it hadn't come back with an error.
Each station has a XML entry:
<kb:station_record><kb:esid>2d4a269f369b4a3013b6f8a68b2a1654</kb:esid>
<kb:station>#Musik.Goldies on RauteMusik.FM</kb:station>
<kb:description>#Musik.Goldies - 24/7 hours open - Old but Gold!</kb:description>
<kb:station_url_record>
<kb:url_no>1</kb:url_no>
<kb:url>http://pri.kts-af.net/redir/index.pls?esid=2d4a269f369b4a3013b6f8a68b2a1654&url_ no=1&client_id=7&uid=68efed4d03ec7e45fd3978262c107180&clicksrc=xml</kb:url>
<kb:status_code>A</kb:status_code>
<kb:bandwidth_kbps>128</kb:bandwidth_kbps>
<kb:url_strength>9</kb:url_strength>
</kb:station_url_record>
</kb:station_record>
Simply copy out the URL in the <kb:url> tags and paste into your favourite web browser. It will prompt you to open iTunes or a similar program. Open with iTunes and you're done!
Not the prettiest workaround, but it works fine.
Cheers!
Bill.
