I am in 3G range....
or will it be possible that the new 4s no longer inidicates that the phone is connected via 3G Mode?
One thing I noticed is that when the Cellular data is "ON", the "3G" appears at the upper portion, but when you turn Cellular Data "OFF", then the "3G" disappears again.
In previous model of I-Phone, 3G appears whenever the phone senses and is connected to a 3G network even of the cellular data is "off".
So, if the Cellular data is off, does the phone connects to the network in 3G mode or GPRS/Edge mode?
Who is your carrier (and where). If you're using an unsupported carrier, such as T-Mobile in the U.S. it may be that their 3G network is not compatible with the iPhone. iPhone users attempting to use T-Mobile in the US can only get EDGE data connections. The frequency they use for 3G is not supported by the iPhone. One of the reasons they are not a supported carrier.
