Q: my sony tv does not appear in my sound output when connecting HDMI

I have Macbook Pro Model 6.2 which is late 2010.

According to info I have found, this my Macbook should have HDMI sound passthrough.

So why does it not appear in my output sources?

Display works fine, and I'm using a Moshi connector.

Anyone with any Ideas??

I have looked at both links. One sugested also to do an SMC reset while the other has a link going to an apple support document which I have already verified that My MBP v6.2 is capable of sound thru hdmi, and the adapter is listed as being the correct one. MOSHI.

An SMC reset also did not work.

Is it possible that a TV could not be compatible?
Or is there older MOSHI adapters that do not support audio?
What about HDMI cables? is there a difference?
