Why can't South African iPad users connect to iTunes via their iPads and why can't they get some Apps eg. Angry Birds etc.?

    I know what content I can get and cannot get. I want to know why do we have restrictions on content? Surely all countries should be treated the same and equal.

    Why does it have to be Apple who is treating you unequally? If I was to roll up to your borders with a truck load of stuff and I said "Hi, guys, I've come to set up a shop and sell all this stuff in your country." I would get turned back until your Government had OK'd taxation,legality, licenses, copyright etc. If I could not do that I would be restricted as to what I could sell. Apple is in the same boat. Talk to your Government.

     

    And Yes, Amazon etc can post things to you because the import restrictions on that sort of trading are completely different.

    Look, I'm not fighting here, just trying to get a straight answer.  I love the Apple brand.  It's just a little frustrating when you want to buy an App and you get a message saying "this App isn't available in your country".

     

    Okay then why is it that I can download Angry Birds for argument sake from Rovio's website to my desktop computer, but it's not available on the South African App store which is directed from Rovio's website?

     

    It would be nice if this question can be answered by a qualified Apple employee.  Other than that everybody else just seems to have an opinion on this subject rather than the actual facts.

    I'm not fighting, unless you see someone trying to explain something and you not liking what you hear as aggression. This question has come up from several countries as the Apple Store has spread, it IS frustrating for those caught up in this - there are things I can't get here in the UK I would like - but International trading rules are pretty complex I guess. There are cars and models of certain makes I can not buy here, but you can not say I am picked on or neglected by the maunfacturers because of it.

     

    And No, I am not an international Trade Lawyer, they are very expensive, I am just someone who tried to help with your query. I still think your own Government is as likely to be part of the issue, Governments control who sells what in their territory, it is not decided by the sellers.
