Hi,

I've Logic Pro 9.6 and Soundtrack Pro 3. Sometimes.

In this last time I would like to insert a plugin in a part of an audiofile. Once a time I used to go in the menubar searching PROCESS > EFFECTS and then find a list of plugins, but now there is not. Is there disappear. But if a search an affect in the tab (in my case at left side) EFFECTS I found them. But there is no way to save it as applescript. The only way is "render to action".

Anyone can help me?

Thanks

    It's a kind of magic!

Yesterday I've opened together Logic Pro 9.16 and Soundtrack 3.1, I've done some audio edit and then close them. After some time  I've  reopened Soundtrack and "as magic" I've found that in the menubar under PROCESS > EFFECTS the plugins are appeared ???? I don't know why but it happened!!

So If you want to see the plugins of soundtrack pro  in the menubar, as apply in a part of a file you must open Logic Pro and sountrack Pro together, close the programs, after this reopen sondtrack pro

Referring to https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3761862?tstart=0, there are a couple things you can try:

    1. Go to ~/Library/Preferences/ and manually delete com.apple.soundtrackpro.plist
    2. Empty the trash.
    3. And for good measure, shut down (not a restart) the Mac, wait the count of 10, then start the Mac up again.  Now try launching STP.

Failing that, download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager, and use it to clean up STPs preferences and caches.  Again, shut down (not a restart) the Mac, wait the count of 10, then start the Mac up again.  Now try launching STP.

    Let us know what happens.

Another thing... This problem is when I open a project or a file that I have saved. If I open a new project the EFFECTS appears.

    Thanks again

Sorry, can't help with Logic as I do not have LP9 installed.  Please create a post in that forum.

How is Soundtrack?  Is that problem resolved.

The effects can be added two other ways:

    1. the Effects Tab in the left pane (search "Effects Tab" in the STP manual):

    STP_Effects_Tab.jpg

    2. the Mixer Channel Strip on the bottom (search "Adding Effects to a Channel Strip" in the manual):

    Hy Gary,

maybe my english is not too much comprehensible I know how to apply the effects (i work with ST from the 1st version) but the problem is this: as you note up in your reply there are two ways to apply effect, (then you Render To Action) and this is correct. But there is another way, from menubar goto PROCESS > EFFECTS and then you can apply effect to the file in use.

The importan thing about this way to apply effects is that you can save as applescript, and apply the same effects when you want.

I think is a little bug.... the menu (effect) appear only when you start a new project or open a new file, then when you save it the menu (effets) is empty...

    Thanks for the answers

No, the effects using the method I mentioned are real time.  You do not Render.  You press play, and they are processed as if you had a physical mixer with effects, and they are specific to only one track, and not the entire project.  You can make changes to the effect parameters while the tracks are playing and hear the changes as you make them.

BTW - this is done in the Track view, not the File Editor.  This may be where the confusion is starting.  Some menu function only work in specific window.
