Q: Unable to submit to queue

I've encountered a problem which is already reported here, but the remedies suggested have not worked for me.

After re-installing the OS 10.5.8 to solve an unrelated problem, and 'software updating' all software to match, I find that Compressor (v 3.0.5) can not find it's queue for processing.  When I open Qmaster in System Prefs, all options are greyed out, apart from the 'Services' window.  I've tried starting from Terminal, as described in a post or two from 2008, but it doesn't work for me.

I have the identical software installed on my laptop -  same FCS, same OS, which I haven't had to re-install, and it still works perfectly.  Qmaster system prefs are not greyed out.

I feel this is not an FCS re-install issue - I've envountered different problems on other occasions and it was never solved by re-installing.  How do I switch on the Qmaster prefs?  Terminal didn't do it for me - with these commands:

sudo SystemStarter start Qmaster

sudo qmasterprefs -reset

- I got the message "command not found"
