Mar 4, 2012 2:42 PM in response to ohneSchattenby Kuhnaydeein,This is not Corporate Censorship. This is an error being made by the algorithm that determines the song to be Matched to the iTunes Store content. Nothing more, nothing less.

Mar 4, 2012 6:00 PM in response to Kuhnaydeeinby Datapotomus,Agreed... This happens both ways. Clean songs have been found to be matched with explict itunes versions, and vice versa.

Mar 8, 2012 1:54 PM in response to Christopher Goldingby OWN3D,iTunes 10.6 released
This release also includes many improvements for iTunes Match, including:
• Improved song matching
Where are the improvements for songs being mismatched? This is so frustrating, I don't want to go back to an old backup and try to sift out all the mismatched songs. I just want a button that gives me the choice of Explicit/Clean in iTunes...

Today I imported 400 Degreez by Juvenile...
Downloaded from iCloud on my iPhone and bleep bleep bleep. I can't even listen to it.

Mar 11, 2012 11:54 PM in response to travelinmaxby edditnyc,I just updated iTunes and cleared out my iPhone again to prep it for iTunes Match. Went straight for Nas' Untitled album and it's definitely still clean. Probably the worst album to have clean but I guess I'll just sync it manually. The problem is still inconsistent too. Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Nightmare comes explicit. I purchased both from iTunes BTW.
It would be nicety know if we will have to clear out/reset our iCloud music. I get the feeling that's an important part of resolving the problem.

Mar 12, 2012 9:38 AM in response to edditnycby juicy_jones,It is now March 12 and this problem has been occuring since November. Being we're going on 6 months with this issue, shouldn't we get back 1/2 of what we spent on a 1 year membership? I am so frustrated with this. And everytime I complain I hear "Our engineers are working on it, there's no time table...here have 5 free iTunes downloads" I don't care to have 5 free downloads. I want the 13,000 songs I've uploaded to work correctly.

Mar 12, 2012 9:52 AM in response to juicy_jonesby MjaMes1409,I have only sent a formal complaint once, and im not sure i sent it to the right place. Apparently i need to start complaining again because this problem has not been solved. Where do I send me complaints?
I can't believe how long this is going on for, and how the problem is being swept under the rug. No major press is covering this. I paid for a service that isn't working properly. ***?

I paid for a year subscription and haven't been able to use it the first half of that year.

I've had this for a year too and it's getting really frustrating. I'm sending some feedback now.

Mar 25, 2012 12:12 PM in response to Christopher Goldingby John P.,Strangely, some songs I had purchased off of iTunes Music Store (not third-party or ripped from CDs) got re-matched to live performance versions of the same song. Not a big deal but definitely an issue.
-
Mar 25, 2012 4:22 PM in response to John P.by edditnyc,John if you purchased a CD with a live performance and you got studio tracks, you'd go back and get the disc returned, refunded or exchanged. The problem we have here is Apple hasn't made any of those options available to us nor have they reached out to iTunes Match subscribers about what they're doing to alleviate the issue. Instead we're stuck with either censored or mismatched tracks. It's not acceptable.
-
Mar 25, 2012 10:25 PM in response to edditnycby John P.,I guess I just don't let things bother me that much. I never said it was acceptable, it's definitely an issue but there's nothing stopping us from contacting iTunes Support directly regarding the issue.
-
Mar 28, 2012 3:05 PM in response to John P.by tentaclesex,I have contacted support directly, and they won't do anything to fix it. They just give a boilerplate general response saying that they're looking into it.
I gave a list of affected songs, and they won't actually go into the system and correct them for me or anything.
They're stonewalling us.
I'd settle for a way to manually select between multiple versions myself. I realize that the matching issue is a tough one to correct, because their database is such a mess. (The iTunes store has always had mislabeled, redundant and unclear content.)
If it takes human ears to make the selection at a certain point, then so be it. I'm willing to do it, but I can't tolerate being saddled with these butchered versions of songs. If I seem overly agitated, I should add that I bought an Apple TV unit solely because of iTunes Match, so right now I feel like I'm out $125.

Mar 29, 2012 7:15 PM in response to tentaclesexby housemr,The entire album g unit: beg for mercy is bleeped out.
Is there a way to just make it rescan certain songs (i am guessing no).
Also, when apple fixes this serious issue they are going to have to put in a way to rescan / rematch songs or it wont fix the issue for people that have already scanned their library as those songs that are matched will still play edited/censored on the iphone, ipad, etc.
