I lam an Australian and have just moved to the  UK and have a very large collection of DVDs that I use on my mac however, it appears that there is a limited amount of times that I can switch dvd zones this is not acceptable as have DVDs - several hundered of them from both countries.

What is the Fix?

The easiest and most reliable fix is to purchase an external USB DVD drive. Set that drive to one region and your internal optical drive to the other.

    Thank you for your reply.

I have heard this before but I have read on another forum that Al imacs will not read an optical USB drive is this correct?

If the above is not correct would any one know the best Exteranl DVD drive to get?

That's nonsense. I have been using a USB DVD drive with my Al iMac for a year and a half. It works a treat.

I don't know what the "best" drive is. I bought mine nearly five years ago for $40 on clearance at a local big box store. It has always worked perfectly for me. It was a generic no-name brand. System Profiler shows its internal drive is HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GWA-4083B.

Again, thank you for your reply.

I'll find a not too expensive optical drive and give it a go!
