Anyone else install the newest osx update? I'm writing this from my phone because I'm doing a full restore from backup on my computer. I was hoping this
update would finally address the graphics card driver issue. Seems to have made it much worse. I can't open any programs, everything immediately crashes.
Hi, I have the same issue: after upgrading from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 no programs will open on my Mac Pro with the Nvidia Quadro FX5600 - instead they crash and this includes opening folders in the Finder. Apple should be embarassed because they don't test a supported configuration before releasing a new update. Clyde

Thanks for the heads up on the OSX update. I was about to install it. Since I have the problems on my work computer, I'm kinda debating on just installing it anyways and if I have all the problems of all programs crashing, maybe they'll just buy me a new computer ;-)
Please keep posting if anyone has any updates or fixes.

Same issue here, just upgraded to Lion some of the below specs on my work machine...
We have all the latest software updates from Apple installed.
Mac Pro 2008 2x3GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, with 8GB of RAM
OS X Lion 10.7.3
Nvidia Geforce FX 5600 (driver version 126.96.36.1990.05.20f02)
Flash Player 188.8.131.52
Safari 5.1.3 (7534.53.10)
Opera 11.61 (1250)
Silverlight 5.0 (5.0.61118.0)
I've also tried beta versions where available.
It seems to be a problem with most plugins for me, I also have issues with Silverlight and anything that requires Java.

Mac Pro 2008 and FX 5600, see earlier treads for more info on problems.
I just updated from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 using the Combo update downladed from apple support page. Everything went well untill I tried to open Final Cut X and Final Cut 7. The programs would start, but beachball would then spin endlessly and no lodaing.
I zapped the PRam and everything is back to good again. All other programs are running good except for no flash in Safari so I am using Chrome to see flash related stuff and that is working good with the latest update of Chrome.
Interestingly I have a patition with Lion that I just updated to 10.7.3, it was my test before my main HD update, and that is running just fine. Even Safari with flash works perfectelly. Please understand that this is a HD with 15GB and no other programs installed.
Very disapointed with Nvidia and Apple for not updating the driver for FX 5600. I bought some effects from FXfactory to use with FCPX and they brings rendering to a snail pase, bearly usable. I complained to them and they said that this Nvidia FX 5600 card is a great card, but on the Mac Pro the drivers are terrible and renders it almost unusable. They offered to refund my purchase.
That is all that i can update today.
Thanks for listening.

Has anyone figured out a way to upgrade to 10.7.3 with the FX 5600 and still have all your programs to work???
I have yet to update my OS X to 10.7.3 in fear that my programs that I use for work (Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) might stop working.

I have been struggling with this problem since upgrading to Lion. I have tried everything suggested with plugins, re-installing Flash, changing Safari permissions and and and ... What has just worked for me in the past minutes is to download and install the latest driver for my graphics card, a NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600. The latest driver version is 270.00.00f01 intended for OSX 10.7.3. Now presto it works and I can again play YouTube content from Safari.
Previous to this I also downloaded and installed the latest Flash driver, and I had uninstalled the Codecs DivX and 3ivX.
Works for me now, hope you find a solution.

Thanks for the heads up Deano3500 and y7om3 for the link solved all my issues!
Would have been nice if Nvidia emailed those with tickets pending (me included) to advise of the fix in this driver update... only realised when i checked this thread again >.<
